Book Description
Few-body physics covers a rich and wide variety of phenomena, ranging from the very lowest energy scales of atomic and molecular physics to high-energy particle physics. The papers contained in the present volume provide an apercu of recent progress in the field from both the theoretical and experimental perspectives and are based on work presented at the “22nd International Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics”. This book is geared towards academics and graduate students involved in the study of systems which present few-body characteristics and those interested in the related mathematical and computational techniques.

Book Description
Dramatic progress has been made in all branches of physics since the National Research Council's 1986 decadal survey of the field. The Physics in a New Era series explores these advances and looks ahead to future goals. The series includes assessments of the major subfields and reports on several smaller subfields, and preparation has begun on an overview volume on the unity of physics, its relationships to other fields, and its contributions to national needs. Nuclear Physics is the latest volume of the series. The book describes current activity in understanding nuclear structure and symmetries, the behavior of matter at extreme densities, the role of nuclear physics in astrophysics and cosmology, and the instrumentation and facilities used by the field. It makes recommendations on the resources needed for experimental and theoretical advances in the coming decade.

Book Description
Parameters of neutron resonances are finding increasing interest, not only for scientific problems like the understanding of astrophysical processes but even more so for applications. For the construction and the safety of conventional nuclear reactors such data are essential and for new developments like the thorium-uranium cycle or for nuclear waste transmutation they are indispensible. Since the last publication of neutron resonance parameters at Landolt-Börnstein in 2004, the quality and precision of the data has been considerably improved, partly by the operation of new neutron spectrometers, e.g., the CERN time-of-flight facility recently put into operation and also by the use of new carefully designed neutron capture detectors. Volume I/24 contains neutron resonance parameters for the nuclear levels of 356 nuclei with Z ranging from 1 to 98 compiled by two eminent experts in the field. Again a considerable effort was made in comparing data from different sources in order to solve some previous discrepancies and establish 'best values', one of the main characteristics of Landoldt- Börnstein publications. In order to compare the data from different sources a comparison of the various experimental installations has been given. In view of the large amount of data the parameters for only the most important resonances are given in the printed version. However, the data for all resonances are available online at www.springerlink.com (DOI: 10.1007/978-3-540-87866-7). Neutron resonance parameters of many nuclei were previously published by Landolt-Börnstein in Volumes I/16B and I/16C.

Book Description
This volume focuses on the topical area of magnetic superconductors. Rutheno cuprates and quaternary borocarbides are the two frontal materials forming the mainstay of the book. The authors are noted for their pioneering contribution in the field. In all, there are 6 chapters written by 18 researchers from 6 countries taking stock of frontal issues of both experiment and theory. Chapter headings: Phase Separation, Magnetism and Superconductivity in Rutheno-Cuprates; Coexistence of Superconductivity and Magnetism in R2-xCexRuSr2Cu2O10-d(R=Eu and Gd); Magneto-Superconductivity in Rutheno-Cuprates RuSr2GdCu28-d (Ru-1212) AND RuSr2(Gd0.75 Ce0.25)2Cu2O10-d (Ru-1222): A Critical Review; Therman Conductivity in Magnetic Superconductors; Magnon Specific Heat of the Antiferromagnetic Superconductors RNi2B2C [R=Tm, Er, Ho, Dy]; On the Role of the Electronic Structure in the Properties of Pseudo Quaternary Borocarbides.
