Book Description
A book beloved by Mother Teresa, by Blessed Gabriel Allegra, one of the most famous 20thcentury biblical exegetes, and by Blessed María Inés Teresa Arias, Maria Valtorta's Poem of the Man-God has been increasingly treasured by hundreds of thousands. Some have called Valtorta the greatest Italian author of the 20thcentury. The testimonies of these three saints and groundbreaking analysis by Fr. Anthony Pillari, J.C.L., begins "lifting the veil" to reveal this hidden treasure. "When in the 1980's I commenced reading The Poem of the Man-God, I was cautioned by overscrupulous well-wishers concerned for my spiritual welfare against reading a book which had been placed on the Index of Forbidden books. Father Anthony Pillari in Maria Valtorta's Life of Christ has banished for good and all any lingering doubts as to the orthodoxy of her visions and writings." -Cardinal Thomas Williams, Archbishop Emeritus of Wellington, New Zealand "Fr. Anthony Pillari and Stephen Austin deserve to be commended for this precious work which will, God willing, open up for the Church the great treasure that isThe Poem of the Man-God. Valtorta's great work, like St. Louis de Montfort's priceless True Devotion to Mary, has been a hidden treasure at times despised and rejected even by those in the Church. With the witness of these saints who have profited from Valtorta's incredible insights into the life of Christ, may the whole Church awaken to the riches of an intimate knowledge of the life and times of Our Lord." -John-Henry Westen, Editor in Chief and Co-Founder of LifeSiteNews "Fr. Pillari and Stephen Austin's text on The Poem of the Man-God makes clear the canonical legitimacy for all faithful Catholics to read and appreciate this great mystical work. The positive spiritual discernment of St. Teresa of Calcutta and other recently declared 'Blesseds' of the Church testify to its inspiring and authentic contents. The sublime Mariological theme of Mary as the 'Co-redemptrix' with and under Jesus, the divine Redeemer, accurately embodies the best and richest Mariology of the last millennium. Rather than a threat to Scripture reading, The Poem makes the superior Word of God come alive and move souls to repentance, conversion, and peace. "The time has come for the Poem of the Man-God to be universally appreciated as the contemporary mystical classic that it is. Thank you, Fr. Pillari and Stephen Austin for this outstanding articulation and defense of the pearls of The Poem for today." -- Dr. Mark Miravalle St. John Paul II Chair of Mariology Franciscan University of Steubenville President, International Marian Association

On 23 April 1943, Good Friday, Maria Valtorta reported hearing the voice of Jesus. Agnus Dei
Author: R. W. Schoenecker
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781432761660
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 584
Book Description
THE GREATEST ST0RY ever told is of course the Bible. The Bible describes the relationship between God and His people. As Christians we believe the Bible culminates in the person of Jesus Christ, the God Man. In Jesus we plainly see God at work among us. The Gospels tell us of Jesus birth and mighty works. Although the Scriptures contain all knowledge needed for our salvation, we read in the end of Johns Gospel that there are many other things to tell of Jesus and that the world may not be big enough to hold all that may be written. I for one certainly would be curious to have read some of these other tales of Our Lord. In Agnus Dei by Roger Schoenecker we are given that opportunity! Here we have the means to read in a consolidated form the writings of Maria Valtorta, The Poem of the Man God. This mystical work tells the untold stories of Jesus in five volumes. For many people, such a large piece of work would seem intimidating. Although I would encourage anyone who could to read these five volumes, for those who cannot, Rogers single volume puts succinctly the essence of Marias works. Agnus Dei has been a blessing to me in my own spiritual life, helping me to have a deeper understanding of the Scriptures in particular of the lives of the disciples and of our Blessed Mother Mary. I cannot tell how important that was for me. It has deepened my interest in the Gospels and in reading the five volume work of Maria Valtorta. I highly encourage all Christians to read this wonderful book. Fr. Steven A. Kunkel, Pastor, Christ the King Church, Mesa, Arizona>

Animus Injuriandi - I
Author: Atila Sinke Guimaraes
Publisher:
ISBN: 9780981979328
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 400
Book Description
After establishing Vatican II as ambiguous in its documents, Atila Guimarães now starts to investigate the spirit of the Council. In this work he examines the actual conciliar debates, speeches and proposals. Key papal pronouncements and leading post-conciliar personalities are also studied. What is the result of this search? It is not a comforting picture. The author shows that many of those Prelates and theologians expressed surprisingly bitter resentments against the Catholic Church. They insult her militant past, monarchical structure, stable dogmas, coherent morals and solemn liturgy. Outrageous theories like the Church as a Chaste Prostitute are proposed.

Finding True Happiness
Author: Robert Spitzer
Publisher: Ignatius Press
ISBN: 1681496550
Category : Philosophy
Languages : en
Pages : 314
Book Description
One of the hottest topics in contemporary culture is happiness so much so that the United Nations declared an International Happiness Day in response to the immense popularity of Pharrell Williamsಙ song ಜHappyಝ. The explanation for this current fixation seems to lie in the contrary phenomenon unhappiness. Despite the fact that we have tremendous access to every imaginable form of entertainment, we experience a pervading sense of insecurity, emptiness, and malaise amid sporadic peak experiences. The problem seems to lie less in the external environment than in the internal one. We seem, in the words of Viktor Frankl, to be suffering from an absence of meaning that pervades both individuals and societies, giving rise to a collective emptiness, loneliness, and alienation. Finding True Happiness attempts to provide a way out of this personal and cultural vacuum by helping people to identify and then reach for happiness. As Aristotle noted 2,400 years ago, happiness is the one thing we can choose for its own sake everything else is chosen for the sake of happiness. After an exhaustive investigation of philosophical, psychological, and theological systems of happiness, author Fr. Spitzer developed the ಜFour Levels of Happinessಝ, which he based on the classical thinkers Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, and Aquinas; the contemporary philosophers Marcel, Scheler, Buber, Ricoeur, and Jaspers; and the modern psychologists Maslow, Frankl, Erikson, Seligman, Kohlberg and Gilligan. Finding True Happiness is both a philosophical itinerary and a practical guidebook for lifeಙs most important journey from the mundane and the meaningless to transcendent fulfillment. No other book currently available combines such breadth of practical advice and such depth of philosophical, psychological, and spiritual wisdom.
