If its fleet wasn't annihilated by the American dive bombers, Japan would have continued its belligerence unabated and with impunity. Born in Bayonne, Best always aspired to be a pilot someday. He grew up listening to the legends of air veterans of World War I. it is no wonder that Best came out to be the best dive bomber during the Second World War.
