Book Description
The community and technical college mission requires offering relevant Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Board policies are plentiful for creating new programs in alignment with workforce needs. However, few districts have robust policies in place to appropriately discontinue or replace CTE programs. This book identifies successful CTE program discontinuance including how people feel about the process and the impact of institutional culture. The interviews and policy analysis conducted provide best practices to effectively and appropriately discontinue CTE programs. Eleven practical recommendations are outlined to help community and technical colleges in establishing program discontinuance processes which strategically and effectively discontinue CTE programs while making optimal use of limited fiscal and human resources. This book provides readers with information on career and technical education, appropriate strategies to manage the constant churning of CTE programs, college governance, and academic discontinuance policies.

Book Description
Modern organisations are subject to continual change - technologies evolve, organisational structures are modified, people and underlying cultures are transformed. Yet the facilities that organisations occupy are static and can impede the changes that are essential to organisational survival. The response to change in terms of property and support services is often too little too late - leading to facilities that do not support organisational reality. The facilities management team is thus constantly challenged to bridge the gap between what an organisation has and what it needs. Facilities Change Management is a practical evaluation of the management of change for facilities managers and related professions. It considers: the forces of change affecting facilities decisions the obstacles to change at a resource level and human level the effective implementation of change the human aspect of change Each of these is considered in relation to modern facilities management issues. The discussion will enable practising facilities managers, project managers, surveyors, service providers and architects to understand, engage with and manage facilities change effectively at a strategic level. Through real-life case studies it demonstrates the complexities of change and hidden elements of change that may undermine carefully planned projects.

Book Description
Against the current historical context that, the United States is in the process of forging and implementing a grand Indo-Pacific strategy, and that the U.S. has shown its intention to align its strategies toward other regions of the world with its strategic interest in Asia together, this study aims to explore and analyse the critical factors, issues, and mechanisms which would most likely be able to affect the relations among major powers and entities in Europe as well as in the Indo-Pacific region, and to see how possibly the main actors in these two regions could jointly shape a different model of global order, based on their management of and involvements in the core issues identified in this project. The next ten to twenty years will likely be a critical period to see whether a different global system from the current one can be forged, and what it might look like.

Book Description
Other investigators have surmised that different types of relationships use diverse maintenance strategies in order to keep the relationship in existence. This study examines relational maintenance strategies that people use specifically in the relationship known as friendship. Five adult friendship couples were interviewed for maintenance strategies they use to sustain their friendship. The discussions were recorded and transcribed. The Constant Comparison method was used to compare and contrast the data in order to discover strategies unique to friendships. Results revealed seven strategies including Openness; Approach to Conflict; Identification; Admiration; Togetherness; and Sense of Continuance. These friendship strategies are uniquely utilized, and therefore distinctive, to the relationship. This may be due to the way people are socialized in our society.
