Book Description
"It is a significant, momentous fact that in the third millennium before Christ, an incarnation of Lucifer in the flesh actually took place in the east of Asia. And from this incarnation of Lucifer in the flesh --for this being became a teacher --there went forth what is described as the pre-Christian, pagan culture that still survived in the gnosis of the earliest Christian centuries." --Rudolf Steiner (The Influences of Lucifer and Ahriman) In the West today, Laozi --who lived sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BC --is perhaps the best-known (along with Confucius) ancient Chinese philosopher, owing to numerous modern renderings of his Daodejing (or Tao Te Ching). Eric Cunningham relates the substance of Laozi's classic work to modern philosophers and thinkers --especially Rudolf Steiner and his esoteric cosmology and philosophy, drawing significant and surprising parallels and contrasts with regard to Steiner's modern path of inner development and to aspects of popular culture. In doing so, he also sheds light on the evolution of consciousness and the universality of Laozi's wisdom of more than two millennia ago.Cunningham combines a new translation of the Chinese classic Daodejing with a unique interpretation of the Dao for today, innovatively employing perspectives of Rudolf Steiner's Anthroposophy interwoven with esoteric world history. Inspirations for this singular reading of the Daodejing includes the suggestion by contemporary esoteric scholars that the mythical Yellow Emperor of Chinese history was a human incarnation of the spirit called Lucifer in the West. This argument has been used to explain the ways in which "demigods" have inserted themselves into the earthly sphere to affect human evolution and history. This theory resonates with certain readings of Genesis 6 and the idea that fallen angels have penetrated the human world and promoted the establishment of ruling classes and elite bloodlines throughout history. The Luciferic Verses considers such claims from the perspective of esoteric history. The author evaluates them on the basis of their convergence with kindred concepts --including Zen enlightenment, mysticism, and the "simulation" hypothesis depicted in the Matrix films --revealing the activities and historical implications of Gnosticism. He makes a bold case for this common thread in various "consciousness-only" concepts of mind --from Plato and the ancient Skeptics to Daoism, Zen, and even the idealism of the 1960s --leading directly to postmodern hypotheses of digital consciousness.Today, philosophers are exploring such topics as virtual reality and digital simulation as new ways of discussing the contours of reality suggested in the Daodejing. Rather than leading us to a more humanistic vision of reality, as the Daoist scholars traditionally maintain, this theory of mind might be the root of a systematic anti-humanist impulse that has operated throughout world history. The Luciferic Verses offers fresh perspectives on Laoze's classic guide to life and inner development, describing its relevance and meaning for today's cultural milieu and modern esoteric thought.

Lucifer of Cagliari and the Text of 1-2 Kings
Author: Tuukka Kauhanen
Publisher: SBL Press
ISBN: 0884142841
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 445
Book Description
The most up-to-date study of the text history of 1 and 2 Kings In this book, Tuukka Kauhanen approaches the challenging case of the textual history of 1 and 2 Kings through citations of the text found within the writings of the fourth-century bishop of Sadinia, Lucifer of Cagliari. Kauhanen presents evidence that Lucifer's Latin text sheds important light on lost Hebrew and Greek pieces of the textual puzzle in Kings. In doing so, he compares all of Lucifer's extensive quotations of Kings to extant Greek witnesses as well as Old Latin witnesses where available and subsequently analyzes the probable reasons for textual variations. In each instance he attempts to choose the best possible candidate for the Old Greek reading and where that reading might reflect a now-lost Hebrew text. Features Use of the most current research into the text of the Hebrew Bible and the Septuagint, including the Hebrew Bible: A Critical Edition series and the forthcoming Göttingen Septuagint edition of King An appendix listing readings from the analysis sections arranged according to agreement patterns and other meaningful criteria Charts comparing readings

If Lucifer Never Fell
Author: James M. Longaker Jr
Publisher: Fulton Books, Inc.
ISBN:
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 151
Book Description
Imagine that the world that we exist in today is one where everything and everyone works in perfect harmony with no crime or evil acts against each other. This environment could possibly be equal to a utopia, paradise, nirvana, or even heaven on earth! The world, which was created by God, was meant to be exactly as we have just imagined and would have been so even today if not for one prideful and rebellious angel known as Lucifer. Many biblical scholars today are still trying to find out what the total effects on mankind are due to this fallen angel. How could one of God's most beautiful creations turn out to become so evil and have such a negative impact on all of creation? The title of this book considers this very question, and the contents take a deep dive into what is and what could have been on earth if the circumstances and actions of Lucifer would have gone in the opposite direction. It is normal to imagine things throughout our existence, but at some point, we must all come back to reality. The actions of Lucifer have impacted every person on earth from the time he was cast out of heaven by his Creator, which is when he became Satan. Has this evil angel affected you in a way where you have been deceived by his twisted lies to the point that you are uncertain of where your final eternal resting place will be? After reading this book, you will definitely know where you will reside after you perish from this earth. Some say knowledge is power and provides an individual with the ability to make a well-informed and educated choice. Are you 100 percent certain that your choices are placing you on the path of where you believe you will spend your eternal afterlife? This book will provide you with an accurate answer to this vital question.

Lucifer Is Not Satan Part 2
Author: Elizabeth Derry
Publisher: Xulon Press
ISBN: 1600346812
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 262
Book Description
This book explains in detail by revelation of the Holy Spirit, the motive plan and attempt of a rebellious cherub to overthrow God Almighty. It exposes the heart of sinful man (the heart of Satan) as opposed to that of a Holy God. God has shown me the reality of the fall of this cherub who once took on the name and nature of Lucifer; -the Morning Star, like never seen before. God revealed these truths to me as I was caught up to heaven to witness the spiritual realities of Satan s demise. In this book, life-long probing questions are answered such like: - How did sin originate in Lucifer? - What happened before the fall? - What happened after the fall? and much more. Hold on to your seats as we embark on a spiritual journey which takes us beyond the natural into the supernatural realm, even before time began. Elizabeth prefers to be known as a servant girl who has become the Wife of her Prince Charming-the King of Glory (Jesus Christ). She has served her Lord and King in active full time ministry for more that 20 years and continues to do so faithfully. Her duties have been wide and varied; from exercising her gifts through a Pastoral function to ministering to the Aboriginal tribes in South America; conference and seminar engagements; to her latest passion-writing. This budding author has already written 26 books; Lucifer part 1&2 being the first to be published. Elizabeth and her daughter Christal Claire, a minister in her own rights, consider it a privilege to be eleventh-hour laborers in God's vineyard.

The Fall of Lucifer
Author: Carole Cummings
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
ISBN:
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 276
Book Description
Before the earth existed, Lucifer was created by God as a perfect and beautiful cherub. His four faces represent the image of the man, the lion, the eagle, and the ox. His two sets of wings and outer garment or covering of brightly shimmering gems and even gold was glorious. With these magnificent attributes and perfection, God the Father elevated Lucifer to a position of power. After becoming prideful and obsessed with himself, Lucifer sinned and attacked heaven with his army of angels. Jesus described the scene, saying, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18). Satan took his angels and cherubim with him (Revelation 12:4). How could sin change this favored cherub into what is described as an evil dragon or serpent? His sin, as in all sins, separated him from God! Without God, doing what is right is impossible. Satan’s idea of “right” no longer coincided with God’s point of view. For example, Satan was now able to lie. God will never lie (Numbers 23:19). There is much written about Satan, his fallen angels, the fallen angels’ offspring, and the demonic forces he controls. With scripture as our anchor, we will explore Apocryphal books, legends across the globe, and archeological records to confirm what the Bible says about Satan. Even the unspoken record found in the names of stars. The zodiac and decan constellations, have much to reveal about this enemy of God and man. Find out what Satan does not want you to know!
