Book Description
LIGHTS is a new, possibly annual, space for a variety of local and Pleasure Boat Studio talents. Behind the name: When first coming up with the name for this collective way to publish more people, I was thinking of one word possibilities, starting with boat related ideas to pair the theme with ‘Pleasure Boat’: mast, anchor, waves, skiff, oar, etc. Then, ‘lights’ came to me, simple as that and I liked it and stuck with it. The feeling of it felt warm, infinite, fresh, mysterious, clean, airy, mystical, soft, glowing, urban, can’t even describe it really….Then, I got to thinking of forms of light, natural and electric, and the feeling and meanings “Light” can evoke by what light is cast, by which angle and direction, and what lights can show or reveal, reflect or bare witness to. Lights illuminate the dark so we can see, so we can see where we’re going, and see where we are. So, take a glimpse and a ponder into what these contributors want to show you, for what they may put a spotlight on in our lit up world, however dark it might get sometimes. short stories: John Christopher Nelson / essays: Baret Magarian, Mary Lou Sanelli / poetry: Esther Cohen, John Delaney, Eileen Duncan, Scott Ezell, David Grosskopf, Alicia Hokanson, Edward Harkness, Jared Leising, Claudia Castro Luna, Kevin Miller, Melissa Niño, Allison Paul, Sherry Rind, Sarah Plimpton, Scott Ruescher, Judith Skillman, Kari Vamaro, Thomas Walton, Michael Dylan Welch, Shin Yu Pai / art: Jason Bloom, Lauren Grosskopf, Nancy Peacock, Lara Swimmer, Travis Winn, Robert Zimmer

Book Description
STAR LIGHT, The magazine for Enya fans. Issue 1. Welcome to the all new Enya Fanzine (Magazine)Many moons ago, a group of Enya fans from around the world gathered together to create something wonderful; the very first Enya fanzine, a fan made magazine, released in January 1995. The magazine was comprised of beautifully illustrated drawings, photos, and information regarding Enya. There were also stories from fans and album release details. This first edition was called "Caribbean Blue". Some Enya fans out there may still have copies of these fan made editions which have since become highly sought after pieces of Enya memorabilia. These fanzines were created in a time when technology was less advanced, but from across different corners of the globe Enya fans came together to create these wonderful magazines. In this first volume of the new Enya fanzine, we thought it appropriate to dedicate to the first edition of 1995 and to those involved in its creation. Within these pages there will be plenty to read, pictures to see, and lots of Enya goodies. We hope to reach both old and new Enya fans around the globe. There will be 6 editions, each one being released on the 1st of the month from 1st December 2020 onwards. So sit back, put on an Enya record, CD, cassette and enjoy!!!Note: This is a fan made publication. Note: We at Enya fanzine hope you've enjoyed your first issue. In our next issue we will be looking at Watermark, the number 1 album and Orinoco Flow single, more quizzes ... We are also asking for any Enya fan art to display in each issue. So if you're creative and want to show off some of your drawings, paintings feel free to email us at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing them. Any comments or requests are welcome also to the above email. Our next issue will be ready to order on the 1st January 2021.
