Children can practice the words in isolation and then read them in the context of the story. Most books are fifteen to sixteen pages long. Books are printed in black and white with pictures the students may color. Detailed Daily Lesson Plans in the Teacher's Manual clearly state the objectives, tell what is needed to prepare for the lessons, and give clear directions on how to teach the concepts. The lesson plans include handwriting assignments that coordinate with the sounds and words the child has learned. Phonics lessons are integrated with language, spelling, reading, and handwriting concepts. Lessons are easy to understand and require very little daily preparation for the teacher.
