Objectifs de l’étude : Décrire et analyser les facteurs ayant une influence sur l’orientation professionnelle des jeunes sages-femmes diplômées. Matériels et méthode : Le protocole choisi a été une étude descriptive prospective. L’étude a été réalisée dans les écoles de sages-femmes du secteur 5 interrégional du CNOSF. Seuls les professionnels diplômés en juin 2011 dans les écoles concernées ont été interrogés soit un total de 184 personnes. L’étude a été réalisée sur une durée de deux mois et demi. Le questionnaire a été envoyé par mail aux sages-femmes et chaque réponse a été rendue anonyme. L’analyse statistique a été réalisée sur le logiciel SPHINX ; Excel a été également utilisé pour réaliser les graphiques. Résultats : Il est à noter que certains critères ont pu être définis de « primordiaux » comme l’autonomie dans le travail, le secteur public ou encore l’atmosphère dans le service. D’autres ont pu être définis de « très importants » comme la présence médicale jour et nuit, la PEC physiologique de l’accouchement, l’accès à la formation continue, la rémunération ou encore la distance travail-domicile. De plus, un attrait pour l’activité libérale à long terme est très marqué. Inversement un manque d’intérêt pour l’activité en Protection Maternelle et Infantile est à observer. Conclusions de l’étude : Une activité mixte mi-libérale/mi-hospitalière pourrait combler les attentes de la population étudiée, ces deux activités se complétant parfaitement et permettant aux sages-femmes de pratiquer le suivi global des patientes permettant aux femmes et à leur nouveau-né de bénéficier d’un suivi et d’un accompagnement personnalisés et sécurisants.

INTRODUCTION :Les compétences des sages-femmes en France ainsi que leur formation ont connu des évolutions majeures depuis 2009. L'exercice de la profession s'étend aujourd'hui au champ de la santé génésique des femmes. OBJECTIFS : L'objectif de cette étude était de décrire les facteurs influençant le choix de la filière maïeutique pour des étudiants en 2ème de formation et d'explorer les connaissances qu'ils ont de la profession et de sa discipline : la maïeutique. MÉTHODES : Enquête par questionnaire auprès de 71 étudiants sages-femmes en 2ème année de formation de l'école de sages-femmes de Nancy. RÉSULTATS : Pour la très grande majorité des étudiants, « l'amour » du métier était le facteur le plus cité influençant leur intégration en école de sages-femmes. Il s'agissait d'un véritable choix et pour certains d'une vraie vocation puisque le désir d'exercer la profession était présent depuis plusieurs années voire l'enfance. Beaucoup, (45,1 %) se représentaient la sage-femme comme accompagnant le couple tout au long de la grossesse et de la naissance. Son rôle dans le champ de la santé génésique était moins cité par les étudiants (19,7%). Ils évoquaient principalement les savoir-faire relationnels. CONCLUSION : L'information sur le rôle des sages-femmes relatif à la santé sexuelle et reproductive et sur la maïeutique doit être renforcé afin d'accroître le niveau de connaissances des étudiants sur la profession.

Our brain is not organized to automatically perceive that each family has an emotional system, fine-tuned by evolution and "valuing" its survival as a whole, as much as the survival of any individual. It is easier to see this emotional system function in ants or mice but not in humans. The emotional system is organized to snooker us humans: encouraging us to take sides, run away from others, to pressure others, to get sick, to blame others, and to have great difficulty in seeing our part in problems.
