Quantum circuits based on artificial magnetic molecules
Author: Ignacio Gimeno Alonso
Publisher: Prensas de la Universidad de Zaragoza
ISBN: 841340634X
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 208
Book Description
Autor: Ignacio Gimeno Alonso Colección: Colección Estudios de Física. CEF-158 Richard Feynman was the first to propose the idea of applying the laws of quantum physics to perform computational tasks in 1982. David Deutsch then generalised the notion of a Turing machine to the quantum realm, in-troducing the notion of a universal quantum computer. In this system, the bit (the classical unit of information) is replaced by the quantum bit or qubit. The quantum superposition principle allows the qubit to be in any superposition state a |0⟩ + b |1⟩, instead of being in just one of the two states 0 or 1 as a classical bit. This "quantum parallelism" is the key property of a quantum computer, which provides access to an exponentially larger set of states to process information. It makes it possible to simulate quantum systems that classical computers cannot afford due to their size. It could also solve new tasks, as creating true random numbers, and improve others such as the database searching, and prime number factorisation.

Dictatorship, Democracy, and Transitional Justice in Global Legal History
Author: Ignacio Czeguhn
Publisher: Duncker & Humblot
ISBN: 3428585798
Category : Law
Languages : en
Pages : 214
Book Description
The anthology presents the lectures given on the symposium »From Dictatorship to democracy« at the House of the Wannsee Conference on 13–14 September 2021. The aim of the organizers was to show what problems existed during the transition from dictatorship to democracy in several countries around the world. They all enacted laws or other measures to ensure that fundamental rights and the rule of law would resist anti-democratic ideologies, anti-Semitism, racism, and war crimes in the future. However, the legal system and law in these countries themselves often had their origins in dictatorship. Thus, there were and are obvious and hidden anti-democratic continuities that influence law and the legal system up to the present. Scientifics and jurists from Italy, Japan, Poland, Spain, South Africa, and Germany examine these continuities in their contributions.

Young People in Complex and Unequal Societies
Author:
Publisher: BRILL
ISBN: 9004507450
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 514
Book Description
Youth studies in Latin America and Spain face numerous challenges. This book delves into youth experiences in the 21st century, shaped by complex and pressing issues: the surge of youth cultures and groups, visual images of youth throughout time, and fragmented youth experiences in radically unequal societies. It analyzes young people as precarious natives in global capitalism and labor uncertainty, juvenicide, feminist discourse, social networks, intimacy and sexual affection among young people in a context of growing claims of gender equality. Also included are rural and indigenous youth as political actors, the actions of young political activists within government administrations, the experience of youth migration and empowerment, and young people dealing with the digital world. How have youth studies approached these issues in Latin America and Spain? Which were the main developments and transformations in this research field over the past years? Where is it heading? Contributors are: Jorge Benedicto, Maritza Urteaga, Dolores Rocca, José Antonio Pérez Islas, Juan Carlos Revilla, Mariano Urraco, Almudena Moreno, Óscar Aguilera, Marcela Saá, Rafael Merino, Ana Miranda, Carles Feixa, Gonzalo Saraví, Antonio Santos-Ortega, David Muñoz-Rodríguez, Arantxa Grau-Muñoz, José Manuel Valenzuela, Silvia Elizalde, Mónica Figueras, Mittzy Arciniega, Nele Hansen, Tanja Strecker, Elisa G. de Castro, Melina Vázquez, René Unda, Daniel Llanos, Sonia Páez de la Torre, Pere Soler, Daniel Calderón, and Stribor Kuric.
