L’impact d’une chute peut s’entendre dans la trajectoire de vie du sujet âgé comme un vécu de perte. Elle révèle souvent à la personne l’image d’un autre corps. La chute est du fait de contraintes extérieures en lien avec une altération des capacités psychomotrices de la personne, auxquelles s’ajoute bien souvent un facteur précipitant.
