Una estrategia educativa para el desarrollo profesional responsable es un libro escrito para los profesionales de la educación y en particular para los profesores universitarios, interesados en el estudio de la motivación y el desarrollo profesional de adolescentes y jóvenes. En su primer capítulo la autora presenta un análisis de las principales posiciones teóricas que sustentan la práctica de la orientación profesional desde su surgimiento hasta la actualidad y centra la atención en el estudio de aquellas posiciones que conciben la orientación profesional como un proceso educativo. En este sentido la autora realiza un análisis comparativo del movimiento Educación para la Carrera y el Enfoque Histórico-Cultural del desarrollo humano como modelos educativos que aportan elementos teóricos y metodológicos importantes a la comprensión del desarrollo profesional de la persona. En el segundo capítulo la autora aborda en detalle su concepción de la Orientación Profesional Universitaria desde una perspectiva de integración curricular sustentada en el Enfoque Histórico-Cultural del desarrollo humano, en la que destaca la importancia del profesor universitario como orientador profesional y del estudiante como sujeto de sus desarrollo profesional. El tercer capítulo está dedicado a la metodología para el diseño y evaluación de estrategias curriculares de orientación profesional universitaria. En su primera parte, la autora presenta los principios y técnicas para el diagnóstico de la motivación profesional y los recursos personales para la toma de decisiones profesionales. En una segunda parte ilustra con ejemplos tomados de investigaciones realizadas en universidades de Cuba y Bolivia, el diseño, aplicación y evaluación de estrategias de orientación profesional en diferentes niveles curriculares. El capítulo de Conclusión destaca los puntos de encuentro entre la Educación para la Carrera y el Enfoque Histórico-Cultural del desarrollo Humano en su contribución al enriquecimiento de una perspectiva educativa de la Orientación Profesional.

Working with Underachieving Students in Higher Education: Fostering Inclusion through Narration and Reflexivity presents an international and interdisciplinary approach to the study of the relationships between narrative devices and reflexivity in higher education. Stemming from a collaborative European research project called INSTALL (Innovative Solutions to Acquire Learning to Learn), it focuses on an innovative model aimed at promoting personal resources and reflective competencies in non-traditional, disadvantaged and underachieving students. This book seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice by identifying the main challenges which the implementation of the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) is posing in language teaching.
