L’étude de la littérature, du cinéma et des médias nous à permis de dresser un état des lieux sur la façon dont la profession des chirurgiens-dentistes est perçue. Pour compléter cette analyse, nous avons comparé les attentes des patients au cours des quinze dernières années. Ce travail a pour but d’analyser la relation patient-praticien d’hier à aujourd’hui par le biais de deux enquêtes, une réalisée en 1994 par l’ADF selon un questionnaire de la SOFRES et une réalisée en 2010 complétée par un questionnaire sur des nouvelles techniques en évolution depuis les années 2000 (éclaircissement et implantologie). Il en ressort que l’image du chirurgien-dentiste comme un arracheur de dent, un profiteur disparait peu à peu des esprits, au profit d’une image plus florissante d’un professionnel de santé à part entière

Le Chirurgien-dentiste, lui, retiendra « 6 » ; c'est le nombre de fois où le monarque se brossait les dents par an. Ceci nous menant inévitablement à ce genre de questions : comment et quand l'hygiène et les soins dentaires ont-ils significativement évolué ? Nul besoin d'attendre le XXe siècle car c'est déjà̀ sous le règne des Bourbons, celui de Louis XIV, que naît notre spécialité́ : celle de l'expert des dents. L'objectif de cette thèse est d'analyser comment étaient réalisés les soins dentaires et l'évolution de la dentisterie entre la fin du 16ème et le début du 19ème siècle. Notre thèse sera composée de sept chapitres, soit un pour chaque roi Bourbon. Puis, au sein de chaque chapitre, dans un premier temps nous retracerons la vie du roi afin de replacer le contexte historique. La deuxième partie sera dédiée à la santé bucco-dentaire du roi ainsi qu'aux personnes en charge de sa santé. Enfin, la troisième partie sera consacrée à la dentisterie durant cette époque.

How does a city and a nation deal with a legacy of perpetrating atrocity? How are contemporary identities negotiated and shaped in the face of concrete reminders of a past that most wish they did not have? Difficult Heritage focuses on the case of Nuremberg – a city whose name is indelibly linked with Nazism – to explore these questions and their implications. Using an original in-depth research, using archival, interview and ethnographic sources, it provides not only fascinating new material and perspectives, but also more general original theorizing of the relationship between heritage, identity and material culture. The book looks at how Nuremberg has dealt with its Nazi past post-1945. It focuses especially, but not exclusively, on the city’s architectural heritage, in particular, the former Nazi party rally grounds, on which the Nuremburg rallies were staged. The book draws on original sources, such as city council debates and interviews, to chart a lively picture of debate, action and inaction in relation to this site and significant others, in Nuremberg and elsewhere.
