Joint Army and Air Force adjustment regulations (JAAFARs) were published to ensure adequate dissemination of integrated detailed procedures and regulations pertaining to the changes nessitated by the National Security Act of 1947. The Act created the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force. The regulations were subdivided and numbered to indicate the basic subject matter and numbered serially by blocks within each subdivision.
