Book Description
Jesus: His Story in Stone is a reflection on still-existing stone objects that Jesus would have known, seen, or even touched. Each of the seventy short chapters is accompanied by a photograph taken on location in Israel. Arranged chronologically, the one-page meditations compose a portrait of Christ as seen through the significant stones in His life, from the cave where He was born to the rock of Calvary. While packed with historical and archaeological detail, the book’s main thrust is devotional, leading the reader both spiritually and physically closer to Jesus.

Book Description
This book is an edited work of the doctoral thesis, which considers Jesus' first appearance and activity in Galilee in relation to Mark's Gospel. It is its central affirmation that Mk 1, 21-28 has a programmatic character for the Gospel of Mark, because the themes/motives present in it are found throughout the ministry of Jesus, and are both repetitive and verifiable in the Gospel. Its placement at the beginning of the account of Jesus' ministry introduces the reader to what is going to happen in the story of Jesus' public activity, and affects the reader's understanding of the entire Gospel narrative. This thesis for the first time has proved in a detailed and systematic way that this pericope has a programmatic character for Mark's Gospel.

Book Description
David Friedrich Strauss's Das Leben Jesu kritisch bearbeitet (1835) brought about a new dawn in Biblical criticism by applying the 'myth theory' to the life of Jesus. Strauss treated the Gospel narrative like any other historical work, and denied all supernatural elements in the Gospels. Das Leben Jesu created an overnight sensation and Strauss became embroiled in fierce controversy. This earliest English version of 1846 was translated by the novelist George Eliot, and was her first published book.
