Book Description
This book is a general survey of Ethiopia as a country and its people. It focuses on many subjects about Ethiopia's history, geography, politics and the diverse cultures of its people who collectively constitute one of the most fascinating countries in the history of Africa and of the entire world. It starts from the beginning when foundations were laid for what was later to become the country of Ethiopia which is one of the oldest civilisations in the world. Ethiopia also has the distinction of being the oldest Christian nation in Africa and one of the three oldest Christian countries in the world after Georgia and Armenia. Ethiopia converted to Christianity centuries before Europe did. And it is mentioned in the Bible many times. The book also covers Eritrea - its people, history and culture - but not in as much detail as it does Ethiopia. Still, the information about Eritrea is enough to serve as a simple and general introduction to the country. But the main focus of the book is on Ethiopia.

Book Description
In 2014, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched a monthly radio program, Mann Ki Baat. In a world dominated by social media and television, it seemed a strange choice. Little did the world realize what a masterstroke it was. By 2023, when he completed his hundredth episode, 1 billion people had listened to the show at least once! In this book, researchers from IIT Madras use policy advocacy frameworks and systems theory to analyze Mann Ki Baat and demonstrate that it has gone beyond being just a radio show to being a ‘life-centric living system’. Mann Ki Baat has empowered citizens and brought about transformational capacity of people in India. The book also presents a case study of how the IIT Madras ecosystem has built transformational capacity around innovation and entrepreneurship.

Book Description
In fact, before the Russian aggression in 2022, the name Ukraine meant nothing at all to many of us. To dispel this ignorance concerning “the second largest Slavic nation," this little book was already written in 1910 by the famous geographer of the University of Lemberg. He divides his discussion into two sections: the first a treatise on the physical geography of Ukraine, describing its geographic unity, its general topography, and giving detailed information concerning its streams, climate. flora, and fauna; the second, concerned with the Ukraine's anthropogeography, a clear and concise exposition of those national qualities which entitle the Ukrainians to an independent national existence. Such foundations for national independence are, in the words of the author, “independent anthropological characteristics: a distinct independent language; uniform historico-political traditions an aspirations, and independent culture, and a compact geographical territory." A general survey of the natural and industrial resources of Ukrainia, and a description of her districts and settlements conclude the discussion.

Book Description
There have been several books on Leicester during the Second World War, but I felt that some significant omissions remained. First and foremost I wanted to give a voice to the people who lived through those times, but whose personal stories are rarely heard in the official records. I also wanted to touch upon some of the themes not generally covered or glossed over in other histories, notable amongst which were the crime wave which swept the city during the war and the race disturbances that occurred during 1943-44. Balanced against these are other untold stories, such as the gallantry and sacrifices of the men, women and children of the city, the requisitioned factories and offices which from 1939 onwards became home to the Army’s largest ever pay office, and the contribution made by the city's industry to the war effort. Finally, I also wanted to take a little time to explore what happened after the celebrations had ended and the bunting had been put away. Although some of the stories may make uncomfortable reading, I have tried to be as balanced in my reporting as possible.
