Book Description
Deconvolution is a technique in signal or image processing that is applied to recover information. When it is employed, it is usually because instrumental effects of spreading and blurring have obscured that information. In 1996, Deconvolution of Images and Spectra was published (Academic Press) as a second edition of Jansson's 1984 book, Deconvolution with Applications in Spectroscopy. This landmark volume was first published to provide both an overview of the field, and practical methods and results. The present Dover edition is a corrected reprinting of the second edition. It incorporates all the advantages of its predecessors by conveying a clear understanding of the field while providing a selection of effective, practical techniques. The authors assume only a working knowledge of calculus, and emphasize practical applications over topics of theoretical interest, focusing on areas that have been pivotal to the evolution of the most effective methods. This tutorial is essentially self-contained. Readers will find it practical and easy to understand.

Book Description
This practice-oriented textbook shows how to utilize the huge variety of NMR experiments available today in addition to standard experiments. Intended as a practical guide for students and laboratory personnel, it treats theoretical aspects only to the extent necessary to understand the experiments and to interpret the results. The book is significantly revised and expanded for the 2nd edition, and now includes the nuclei 1H/2H, 13C, 31P, 17O, 15N, 19F, 29Si, 77Se, 113Cd, 117Sn/119Sn, 195Pt, 207Pb and a new chapter on solid state NMR. An expanded set of 50 graded problems offers invaluable help for students, practitioners and laboratory personnel alike.

Book Description
Presents some important classical and modern results of the series of Faber polynomials and their applications. Interest in this subject has increased rapidly over the last decade, although the presentation of research has, until now, been confined mainly to journal articles. Applications include theory of functions of complex variables, theory of analytic function approximation, and some aspects of numerical analysis.

Book Description
Universal Spaces and Mappings is devoted to universality problems. A new approach to these problems is given using some specific spaces. Since the construction of these specific spaces is set-theoretical, the given theory can be applied to different topics of Topology such as: universal mappings, dimension theory, action of groups, inverse spectra, isometrical embeddings, and so on. Book Description
Processing audio in the spectral domain has become a practical proposition for a variety of applications in computer music, composition, and sound design, making it an area of significant interest for musicians, programmers, sound designers, and researchers. While spectral processing has beenexplored already from a variety of perspectives, previous approaches tended to be piecemeal: some dealt with signal processing details, others with a high-level music technology discussion of techniques, some more compositionally focused, and others at music/audio programming concerns. As authorVictor Lazzarini argues, the existing literature has made a good footprint in the area but has failed to integrate these various approaches within spectral audio. In Spectral Sound Design: A Computational Approach, Lazzarini provides an antidote. Spectral Sound Design: A Computational Approach givesauthors a set of practical tools to implement processing techniques and algorithms in a balanced way, covering application aspects as well the fundamental theory that underpins them, within the context of contemporary and electronic music practice. The book employs a mix of C++ for implementation,Python for prototyping, and Csound for deployment and music programming. The tight integration of these three languages as well as the wide scope offered by the combination (going from embedded to supercomputing, and including web-based and mobile applications) makes it the go-to resource to dealwith the practical aspects of the subject.

Book Description
This is the first of the encyclopaedia volumes devoted to general topology. It has two parts. The first outlines the basic concepts and constructions of general topology, including several topics which have not previously been covered in English language texts. The second part presents a survey of dimension theory, from the very beginnings to the most important recent developments. The principal ideas and methods are treated in detail, and the main results are provided with sketches of proofs. The authors have suceeded admirably in the difficult task of writing a book which will not only be accessible to the general scientist and the undergraduate, but will also appeal to the professional mathematician. The authors' efforts to detail the relationship between more specialized topics and the central themes of topology give the book a broad scholarly appeal which far transcends narrow disciplinary lines.

Book Description
Self-contained, and collating for the first time material that has until now only been published in journals - often in Russian - this book will be of interest to functional analysts, especially those with interests in topological vector spaces, and to algebraists concerned with category theory. The closed graph theorem is one of the corner stones of functional analysis, both as a tool for applications and as an object for research. However, some of the spaces which arise in applications and for which one wants closed graph theorems are not of the type covered by the classical closed graph theorem of Banach or its immediate extensions. To remedy this, mathematicians such as Schwartz and De Wilde (in the West) and Rajkov (in the East) have introduced new ideas which have allowed them to establish closed graph theorems suitable for some of the desired applications. In this book, Professor Smirnov uses category theory to provide a very general framework, including the situations discussed by De Wilde, Rajkov and others. General properties of the spaces involved are discussed and applications are provided in measure theory, global analysis and differential equations.
