Book Description
This book provides a comprehensive review of the epidemiology, molecular pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). It brings together an impressive group of international experts in cholangiocarcinoma research and clinical care. The book was organized and written to aid the clinician’s understanding of emerging research in cholangiocarcinoma and its application to the clinical care of patients with ICC. Each chapter details the scientific evidence to support clinical decisions that are needed to care for these complex patients. Focused chapters detail the epidemiology, diagnostic evaluation, as well as staging and prognosis of this disease. In addition to dedicated chapters on surgical management of ICC, a broad emphasis on locoregional therapies, including percutaneous ablation and transarterial therapies, is included. An up-to-date overview of the molecular pathogenesis and pathological assessment of ICC is detailed prior to chapters focusing on systemic chemotherapy and emerging novel therapy options. Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma is not only an invaluable resource for many as they seek to provide the best multidisciplinary cancer care to patients with ICC, but also an opportunity to identify new avenues of scientific discovery that lead to significant advances in the diagnosis and management of ICC.

Book Description
The heterogeneity of tumors results in significantly distinct biological characteristics of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) caused by different etiologies. Among them, ICC caused by intrahepatic lithiasis (IHL-ICC) presents challenges in early detection, tumor staging, and surgical treatment, and has the poorest prognosis among all etiologies of ICC patients. Thus, it is essential to focus on early assessment of the possibility of developing ICC, prompt intervention of intrahepatic lithiasis, anatomical resection of hepatic parenchyma corresponding to the branch of the intrahepatic bile duct undergoing cancerous transformation, and enhanced postoperative follow-up of hepatolithiasis and ICC for IHL-ICC patients. These interventions are crucial to improve the clinical outcomes and overall survival of IHL-ICC patients.

Book Description
Cholangiocarcinoma is a heterogeneous group of neoplasms, which has a rising worldwide incidence. Therefore, it is now a major cause of cancer mortality. Diagnosis, staging, treatment approaches and outcomes differ significantly based on the location of the tumor. Given the challenges of remaining up-to-date in a rapidly expanding field, the aim of this monograph is to provide a comprehensive, fully referenced presentation of the state-of-the-art medical and surgical aspects relevant to the management of cholangiocarcinoma divided by the site of origin (i.e. intrahepatic, hilar and distal). The division of the book into these sections reflects the biological and clinical differences between these tumor types and will permit the authors to address the diagnostic, interventional or treatment issues specific to each tumor type. By presenting all medical and surgical aspects of cholangiocarcinoma in a systematic manner, this monograph will be a ready-to-use instrument for those interested in cholangiocarcinoma, including practicing physicians, residents, fellows and specialists. A list of 66 world-renowned experts contributed to the book, offering the readers the unique opportunity to have a broad perspective on these diseases, practical indications on patient selection and treatment that can be easily applied to both Eastern and Western clinical settings.

Book Description
This third edition manual provides a comprehensive, insightful, evidenced-based review of general surgical oncology and serves as a valuable resource for general surgeons in training, practicing general surgeons, and surgical oncologists. The volume describes a multidisciplinary approach that integrates clinical, radiologic, and pathologic data in formulating practical clinical management, and offers a practical approach to the most common situations when treating cancer patients. Each chapter focuses on an individual malignancy and describes the presentation of the malignancy, integrated management based on stage, landmark trials, and suggestions for who to discuss at multidisciplinary cancer conferences. Multiple tables in each chapter provide a concise yet comprehensive summary of the current status of the field. Clinical “pearls” or tips and tricks from high volume surgeons at the University of Toronto are also discussed. The third edition of the Surgical Oncology Manual will serve as a critical resource for general surgeons in training and practicing surgeons dealing with this challenging field.

Book Description
This edition of ICD-O, the standard tool for coding diagnoses of neoplasms in tumour and cancer registrars and in pathology laboratories, has been developed by a working party convened by the International Agency for Research on Cancer / WHO. ICD-O is a dual classification with coding systems for both topography and morphology. The book has five main sections. The first provides general instructions for using the coding systems and gives rules for their implementation in tumour registries and pathology laboratories. Section two includes the numerical list of topography codes, which remain unchanged from the previous edition. The numerical list of morphology codes is presented in the next section, which introduces several new terms and includes considerable revisions of the non-Hodgkin lymphoma and leukaemia sections, based on the WHO Classification of Hematopoietic and Lympoid Diseases. The five-digit morphology codes allow identification of a tumour or cell type by histology, behaviour, and grade. Revisions in the morphology section were made in consultation with a large number of experts and were finalised after field-testing in cancer registries around the world. The alphabetical index gives codes for both topography and morphology and includes selected tumour-like lesions and conditions. A guide to differences in morphology codes between the second and third editions is provided in the final section, which includes lists of all new code numbers, new terms and synonyms added to existing code definitions, terms that changed morphology code, terms for conditions now considered malignant, deleted terms, and terms that changed behaviour code.
