Her husbands death in an auto accident followed by her daughters near death two years and two days later marked her awakening. There was something larger, much bigger than her research had shown, and she would travel the world in search of this higher wisdom. Her quest touched many cultures and much was learned, but the answer she searched for would not come from her world travels. On a short 130-mile trip from her home, the greater awakening occurred and thus completed Intertwines. The threads of lifephysical and spiritual, past and presentmerge as she travels through lifetimes and discovers the blending of two diverse cultures. Prepare to be awakened.

Book Description
Time is not a river. It is a vast cosmic sea. Where each life exists as rippling circles on its surface, past and future being eternally present. And occasionally, one expanding ring intertwines with that of another, weaving the lives of two people together. . . . In 2012, Emme Wilde can't find the right guy. She wants to feel that swept-off-your-feet dizziness of true love. But so far, her dating life has come up short. Star Trek geek? Nice but too serious. Hippy artist? Cute but too vulnerable. Instead, Emme obsesses over the portrait of an unknown man in an old locket. Granted, a seriously dreamy guy with delicious, wind-swept hair she just itches to run her fingers through. But still. Dead men may be great listeners, but they are not exactly boyfriend material. Emme travels to England, determined to uncover his history and conquer the strong connection she feels. In 1812, James Knight has given up finding the right woman. All he wants is someone to share his love of adventure. Instead, his life has become a Shakespearean drama. His brother languishes in a tragic star-crossed romance. His beloved sister clings to life, slowly dying of consumption. But then he finds a beautiful mystery woman, dripping wet and half-dead, beneath a tree on his estate. Now if he can uncover her history, perhaps adventure-and romance-will find him at last.

Book Description
Genome Duplication provides a comprehensive and readable overview of the underlying principles that govern genome duplication in all forms of life, from the simplest cell to the most complex multicellular organism. Using examples from the three domains of life - bacteria, archaea, and eukarya - Genome Duplication shows how all living organisms store their genome as DNA and how they all use the same evolutionary-conserved mechanism to duplicate it: semi-conservative DNA replication by the replication fork. The text shows how the replication fork determines where organisms begin genome duplication, how they produce a complete copy of their genome each time a cell divides, and how they link genome duplication to cell division. Genome Duplication explains how mistakes in genome duplication are associated with genetic disorders and cancer, and how understanding genome duplication, its regulation, and how the mechanisms differ between different forms of life, is critical to the understanding and treatment of human disease.

Book Description
On November 12-14, 1997 a workshop was held at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on the occasion of the sixtieth birthday ofM. A. Kaashoek. The present volume contains the proceedings of this workshop. The workshop was attended by 44 participants from all over the world: partici pants came from Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands, South Africa, Switzerland, Ukraine and the USA. The atmosphere at the workshop was very warm and friendly. There where 21 plenary lectures, and each lecture was followed by a lively discussion. The workshop was supported by: the Vakgroep Wiskunde of the Vrije Univer siteit, the department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Vrije Univer siteit, the Stichting VU Computer Science & Mathematics Research Centre, the Thomas Stieltjes Institute for Mathematics, and the department of Economics of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The organizers would like to take this opportunity to express their gratitude for the support. Without it the workshop would not have been so successful as it was. Book Description
This book introduces a systematic new approach to the construction and analysis of semisimple $p$-adic groups. The basic construction presented here provides an analogue in certain cases of the Harish-Chandra homomorphism, which has played an essential role in the theory of semisimple Lie groups. The book begins with an overview of the representation theory of GL$_n$ over finite groups. The author then explicitly establishes isomorphisms between certain convolution algebras of functions on two different groups. Because of the form of the isomorphisms, basic properties of representations are preserved, thus giving a concrete example to the correspondences predicted by the general philosphy of Langlands. The first chapter, suitable as an introduction for graduate students, requires only a basic knowledge of representation theory of finite groups and some familiarity with the general linear group and the symmetric group. The later chapters introduce researchers in the field to a new method for the explicit construction and analysis of representations of $p$-adic groups, a powerful method clearly capable of extensive further development.
