But as it is not enough for one who undertakes a building to bring together his stones, his materials, and every thing that is proper for carrying it on, unless the whole is disposed of and conducted by the skill of an able architect; so, in the study of eloquence, it is not enough that a large mass of materials be piled and heaped up together, unless disposition shall reduce them into order, and connect them into strong, but graceful, uniformity.
