Book Description
In her 1927 autobiography Carrie Jacobs-Bond wrote: "The only thing that seems to me at all remarkable about my life is that I was nearly thirty-two years old before I even thought of having a career." After years of research I have concluded, on the contrary, that everything about her life was remarkable. A divorcee, then a widow, she was nearly forty years old before her music lifted her out of poverty. She went on to make a fortune as her own publisher, becoming an international celebrity, world traveler, friend of the rich and famous, sometime vaudeville star, and a charitable woman who gave away most of her money before she died. The woman's life needs to be revisited. Her own book was long on anecdotes and platitudes but short on times and places, and on the secrets of her heart. I have filled in some of the blank pages in her life's story by creating this new autobiography. Names and places and dates within reach of my research are faithfully employed. The rest is an affectionate and studied re-telling of her life, knit together by a man who never met Carrie Jacobs-Bond but has been under her spell ever since he sang "I Love You Truly" in 7th grade Boys' Glee Club. MAX MORATH EDITOR: USE THIS QUOTE BOTTOM BACK PAGE: Morath brings to everything he touches a keen intelligence and encyclopedic knowledge of every aspect, musical and otherwise, of late 19th and early 20th century Americana. Book Description
Since its launching in 1955, rational-emotive therapy (RET) has become one of the most influential forms of counseling and psychotherapy used by literally thousands of mental health practitioners throughout the world. From its beginnings, RET has dealt with problems of human disturbance. It presents a theory of how people primarily disturb themselves and what they can do, particularly with the help of a therapist or counselor, to reduce their disturbances (Ellis, 1957a,b, 1958a,b, 1962). Almost im mediately after the creation of RET, it became obvious that the meth odology could be used in many other fields-especially those involving human relations (Ellis & Harper, 1961a), and in love, sex, and marital relationships (Ellis, 1958a, 1960, 1963a,b; Ellis & Harper, 1961b). The evident popularity and clinical utility of RET in different cultures and its increasing application to contemporary problems of living indicate that rational-emotive therapy continues to be vital and dynamic. The growing appeal of RET may be due in part to its essentially optimistic outlook and humanistic orientation; optimistic because it pro vides people with the possibility and the means for change. Showing to people how their attitudes and beliefs are responsible for their emo tional distress and interpersonal problems (and not some out-of-con scious early childhood experience), awakens in them the hope that, in reality, they have some control over their destiny.

Book Description
The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Leadership (Volume 3) contains the following books: Revolutionary Thoughts on Leadership (Volume 1) The Character and Personality of the Leader Basic Christian Leadership The Overcomer as a Servant of Man Making Spiritual Progress (Volume 1) This volume undertakes a study of the leadership substance and style of Joshua and other servant leaders in the Scriptures lased with live examples from the author and several other leaders in the kingdom. Revolutionary Thoughts on Leadership is a string of revolutionary perspectives on leadership that will provoke you, confront you, discipline you, rebuke you, correct you, stir you, and spur you on to aspire, desire, and require victorious and triumphant leadership. Servant leadership is the central focus of this volume. Jesus, our superb and supreme Model was an embodiment of servant leadership. A servant leader leads by not lording it over his followership. When a leader dedicates himself to serve his people, they will eventually be his servants forever. The old men told Rehoboam, If today you will be a servant to these people and serve them and give them a favourable answer, they will always be your servants (1 Kings 12:7). Everyone who will succeed as a leader must appropriate these words. Christian leadership hinges heavily on character. The man with an abundance of divine love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, endurance, and perseverance will definitely attract an increasing following in a foul and perverse world. We send this third volume on leadership out with a cry to the Lord that He should use it to build many into leaders of His people capable of leading them into the totality of God’s purposes in this generation and beyond.
