I've travelled extensively in Africa, but I have also visited every one of the 40+ countries in Europe, including San Marino, Lichtenstein, and Andorra (yes, they are all independent countries in Europe). All in all, I've probably spent at least two years of my life just travelling.Besides travel, I've also experimented with entrepreneurship, most notably launching a clothing label for tall, skinny guys called "Skinny Latvian". It failed because I had not the slightest idea of how to manufacture clothing reliably and profitably. I thought to have a cool idea and a brand was enough. But I learned a lot on this journey, and I am sure, one day, I will create a company again. And it will have much better chances of success, based on all the hard lessons I learned the first time around. When not working, travelling or failing, I like to write. I used to write a regular travel blog for many years that I have now closed down. Then I switched to LinkedIn articles about marketing and finally I am graduating to long-form content with this book.
