The Apocalypse of the Aquarian Age
Author: Albert Amao Soria Ph.D.
Publisher: AuthorHouse
ISBN: 1665515961
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 302
Book Description
Humanity has stepped at the beginning of the Water-Carrier Age’s threshold. Its influence is gradually being felt in all areas of life. This is the time for spiritual renewal and the turning point for the shifting of consciousness. Contrary to the period of mental bondage, prejudice, and religious bigotry, which was the Piscean Era characteristic, we are awakening to another chapter of human history, leading to the realization of the Oneness of life and the human race’s interconnectedness. The world is currently undergoing radical socio-economic and political upheavals because we are transitioning from one chapter of human history to another. Some religious leaders and sensationalistic New Age writers have taken these dramatic changes as signs of the end of the world. Contrary to that, this work postulate that the challenging events indicate the close of one chapter of human history and the beginning of a new one. “We embrace and celebrate the coming of a new age of enlightenment, the awareness of human beings’ brotherhood.”

A Globalised Visual Culture?
Author: Fabio Guidetti
Publisher: Oxbow Books
ISBN: 1789254493
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 416
Book Description
Late Antique artefacts, and the images they carry, attest to a highly connected visual culture from ca. 300 to 800 C.E. On the one hand, the same decorative motifs and iconographies are found across various genres of visual and material culture, irrespective of social and economic differences among their users – for instance in mosaics, architectural decoration, and luxury arts (silver plate, textiles, ivories), as well as in everyday objects such as tableware, lamps, and pilgrim vessels. On the other hand, they are also spread in geographically distant regions, mingled with local elements, far beyond the traditional borders of the classical world. At the same time, foreign motifs, especially of Germanic and Sasanian origin, are attested in Roman territories. This volume aims at investigating the reasons behind this seemingly globalised visual culture spread across the Late Antique world, both within the borders of the (former) Roman and (later) Byzantine Empire and beyond, bringing together diverse approaches characteristic of different national and disciplinary traditions. The presentation of a wide range of relevant case studies chosen from different geographical and cultural contexts exemplifies the vast scale of the phenomenon and demonstrates the benefit of addressing such a complex historical question with a combination of different theoretical approaches.

The Gospel of the Christ
Author: Thomas Lewis Stegall
Publisher: Grace Gospel Press
ISBN: 0979963745
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 815
Book Description
The Gospel of the Christ is a clear, biblical reply to the question of what a person must believe about Jesus Christ to possess eternal life. While Christianity has historically maintained that faith in Jesus Christ is essential for everlasting life, this raises the vital question: what is the necessary content of this faith? Written against the backdrop of the controversy within Free Grace circles over the "crossless gospel" and the contents of saving faith, Thomas Stegall goes well beyond a carefully documented analysis of his own movement. The Gospel of the Christ provides a systematic, exegetically-based treatment of biblical teaching on the subject of "the gospel" and the meaning of the title, "the Christ." The end result is a comprehensive biblical and theological study of Jesus Christ's person and work in the contents of saving faith.

Decoding Jung's Metaphysics
Author: Bernardo Kastrup
Publisher: John Hunt Publishing
ISBN: 1789045665
Category : Psychology
Languages : en
Pages : 147
Book Description
More than an insightful psychologist, Carl Gustav Jung was the twentieth century's greatest articulator of the primacy of mind in nature, a view whose origins vanish behind the mists of time. Underlying Jung's extraordinary body of work, and providing a foundation for it, there is a broad and sophisticated system of metaphysical thought. This system, however, is only implied in Jung's writings, so as to shield his scientific persona from accusations of philosophical speculation. The present book scrutinizes Jung’s work to distil and reveal that extraordinary, hidden metaphysical treasure: for Jung, mind and world are one and the same entity; reality is fundamentally experiential, not material; the psyche builds and maintains its body, not the other way around; and the ultimate meaning of our sacrificial lives is to serve God by providing a reflecting mirror to God’s own instinctive mentation. Embodied in this compact volume is a journey of discovery through Jungian thoughtscapes never before revealed with the depth, force and scholarly rigor you are about to encounter.

The Photographer's Sweethearts
Author: Diana Hartog
Publisher: Overlook Books
ISBN: 9780879517960
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 244
Book Description
This daring novel -- based on the life of a man who lived in California in the first half of the century -- reveals an enigmatic man who, quietly and with a sense of certitude, tells his story: a story of children healed by his herbal medicine; of children photographed by him as they played nude; of children who were violated by him, often in the subtlest of ways; and of families who not only trusted but defended him when his actions were brought to light. This man is Louie Olsen: mystic, guru, lumberjack, holistic healer, photographer -- and lover of children. Only in the eternal giant Sequoias, in "fotographi" and in the innocence of children can Louie find the perfection and divinity his soul craves. Like a photographic negative where white is black and black is white, this powerful novel inverts received notions of morality to explore a territory beyond good and evil, a paradise lost where body and spirit are liberated from the shaded Eden of innocence into a world where the glare of knowledge both probes and enlightens. Like Nabokov's Lolita, Reage's The Story of O, Bataille's The Story of the Eye, and Sade's Justine, The Photographer's Sweethearts is at once a profoundly literary, profoundly sensual and profoundly moral experience.
