Book Description
Design and Spirituality examines the philosophical context of our current situation and its implications for design. It explores how modernity and our constricted notions of progress have contributed to today’s crisis of values, and argues for a re-establishment and re-affirmation of self-transcending priorities, together with an ethos of moderation and sufficiency. A wide range of topics are covered, including material culture and spiritual teachings; sustainability and the spiritual perspective; traditional and indigenous knowledge; technology and spirituality; notions of meaningful design; and how particular material things can have deeper, symbolic significance. There are also reflections on areas such as the language of design; busyness and its relationship to wisdom; design and social disparity; and traditional sacred practices. While not avoiding issues that are controversial, and sometimes hard-hitting, Design and Spirituality gets to the heart of the key issues affecting us today and presents them in a highly readable and accessible format. The author is a leading thinker in the field and he presents his arguments in a manner that invites the reader to reflect and think about where we are going, why we are going there and what really matters. Book Description
The First English Version of the Bible ever printed, this epoch-making work by William Tyndale and Miles Coverdale is presented for the first time complete in one volume in Modern Spelling. The TC translation is the foundation and true source of the celebrated King James Version. But where the KJV freely modifies the text, so that God's Word might better conform to "ecclesiastical traditions", the TC presents the Scriptures as they were delivered: without modification, ammendment, or compromise. This deluxe printed edition of the "MSTC" is illuminated with over 150 engravings and extensive helps, including Biographical Notes and Essays, Holy Land Maps, and a Concise Concordance.

Book Description
Throughout Love Gone Wrong, the familiar fairy tale, Cinderella, is used to outline and tell the unfamiliar journey of a victim who repressed years of childhood sexual abuse. Laurel Bahr’s step-by-step account of discovery, opposition, and lessons learned is interwoven with the “behind closed-door” stories of two friends who were ultimately inspired to follow in her footsteps. Their remarkable journey highlights the power of close, authentic, long-term relationships and proves that change is possible, dreams do come true if one only believes. With the goal to inspire and offer hope to victims, their families, and those who care about them, Love Gone Wrong chronicles the stereotypical aspects of emotional, verbal, sexual, and physical abuse. Clinical insights from a psychologist and other health professionals occur at key junctures to explain, validate, and support their experiences.

Book Description
The Catholic faith was first brought to the peninsula that lies between the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays in the seventeenth century by Jesuit priests who rode circuit from the Maryland colony, offering Mass and bringing the sacraments to private homes. As the country grew, so too did the Catholic community on Delmarva, and many new churches and missions were founded. From the earliest established church'St. Francis Xavier Mission in Cecil County, Maryland, founded in 1704--to Salesianum School, the first high school in Delaware to be racially integrated, from the involvement in the diocese of American saints John Neumann and Elizabeth Ann Seton to a variety of religious orders and organizations, these honored institutions and remarkable individuals helped to shape the minds and spirits of young and old alike The story of the Diocese of Wilmington, which split off from the Diocese of Philadelphia in 1868, is not just one of church construction dates--it is the story of its people. From the colorful settlement of French exiled after a slave rebellion in Haiti to the New World immigrants of Irish, German, Italian, Polish, and later, Hispanic descent, the Catholic community in the region has been diverse, vibrant, and steadfast in a shared faith. From its humble beginnings, the diocese has grown to serve a population of more than 190,000 members with 56 parishes, 20 missions, and 37 schools and has fostered a strong civic tradition in athletics, theater, and community festivals.

Book Description
From Executive summary: This report focuses on the government's efforts to enforce federal civil rights laws prohibiting religious discrimination in the administration and management of federal and state prisons. Prisoners in federal and state institutions retain certain religious exercise rights under the Constitution and statutes including the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUPIPA), the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), and the Civil rights of Institutionalized Persons Act (CRIPA). Many states have similar provisions in their state constitutions and in state law modeled on RFRA. These rights must be balanced with the legitimate concerns of prisons officials, including cost, staffing, and most importantly, prison safety and security. Reconciling these rights and concerns can be a significant challenge for penal institutions, as well as courts.
