High Resolution Fourier Transform Spectroscopy of Linear Molecules
Author: K. A. Mohamed
Publisher: Nova Publishers
ISBN: 9781594541711
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 102
Book Description
High resolution Fourier transform spectra of linear molecules have evoked a great deal of interest during the last several years, which could be seen from the several hundreds of papers published in the journal on the spectra of diatomic and small linear polyatomic molecules. This book describes the advantages of FT Spectroscopy, the techniques employed in absorption and emission spectroscopy, and presents the theoretical models and formulas used in the analyses and interpretation of the spectra. The Perturbations observed in the spectra due to Fermi, Darling-Dennison, Coriolis, and other anharmonic resonances; and vibrational and rotational l-type resonances etc. are discussed with suitable examples. The types of information obtained from FT spectroscopy of two to ten atomic linear molecules, their observed transitions and spectral perturbation etc. are presented along with figures and curves.

Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy
Author: Bernhard Schrader
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 3527615423
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 807
Book Description
This book is an excellent introduction to vibrational spectroscopy for scientists in academia and industry. Both infrared and Raman spectroscopy are covered comprehensively and up-to-date. Therefore the book may also be used as a handbook for easy reference. Written in the language of chemists, it explains the basic theory and instrumentation, the interpretation and evaluation of spectra. Furthermore numerous, worked-out examples of practical applications are presented. Therefore the reader is enabled to apply infrared and Raman spectroscopy for solving his own problem and to design suitable experimental procedures. This book also serves as a guide to the relevant literature

On the Formation of the Most Massive Stars in the Galaxy
Author: Roberto J. Galván-Madrid
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1461433088
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 131
Book Description
The most massive stars in the galaxy - those with more than 15 to 20 solar masses - are lilkely to ionize their surroundings before they reach their final mass. How can they accrete in spite of the presence of over-pressurized gas? This thesis presents results of Submillimeter Array (SMA) and Very Large Array (VLA) studies of massive star formation regions in the early stages of ionization, as well as an analysis of numerical simulations of the evolution of these young HII regions. The results favor a picture in which very massive stars form in accretion flows that are partially ionized and that keep accreting material from their environment.
