Book Description
All of western religion springs from the veneration of a bi-gender entity, known to the ancient world as the Gynomorph. The first western god was both male and female. The worship of hermaphroditic gods like the Gynomorph surfaces in ancient pagan cults as well as early Christianity. In Hermaphrodites, Gynomorphs and Jesus readers meet female gods with penises and discover how they impacted the development of western culture. Veneration of the Gynomorph is the basis for modern western law courts. The founders of democracy worshiped similar female divinities who possessed penises. Ritual sodomy as a means of celebrating hermaphroditic gods directly promoted the birth of western democracy. In fact, ancient priestesses responsible for guiding the worship of hermaphroditic goddesses laid the very foundations for democracy, science and philosophy. Snake venoms used in cultic sex rituals were immensely popular in both Greece and Rome. In addition, abortion-inducing drugs promoted the first scientific investigations. Classical civilization relied heavily upon the use of cannabis, opiates, and hallucinogens, which were mixed with sexual stimulants. Hermaphrodites, Gynomorphs and Jesus reveals how the oldest western pharmaceuticals were sex drugs used in religious initiations in celebration of the Gynomorph.

Book Description
In this fascinating exploration of gender and spirituality, Eliza Barton Lyman argues that hermaphroditic individuals have a special connection to the divine. This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can usually download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1900 edition. Excerpt: ... FOURTH LESSON. NATURE SPIRITS. Man has developed the sense-life on the animal plane to such a degree that it is impossible for him to comprehend those silent and subtle forces that move the universe. For instance, fire and electricity, two elements of common everyday use, yet wholly unknown to him as naked forces. He can only see and feel the workings of those hidden laws. It is the same with the Elemental world; a world of semi-intellectual beings which largely control the elements--the earth, water, fire and air--the human race is at all times more or less under the influence of these beings, without knowing how to defend themselves against their assaults. Man should know how to control these beings as well as he now does light, air, water and electricity. He now moulds many things to his use that he does not know the basic principles of at all. From all occult writings we ascertain that there have been large numbers of men---and women also--who have been perfectly familiar with those denizens of the invisible universe. Not only been cognizant of them, but able to control them. These were the demons and devils spoken of by Christ, and which his disciples commanded and controlled. The Vedantic authorities call this class of life Elementals; in our Bible they are spoken of as cherubims and angels. Zechariah, in describing one of his visions, says: "Then I said unto the angel who talked with me, What are these, my lord? And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth." Ezekiel's visions appeared to be of the same nature, he said: "Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had...

Book Description
This book is a major contribution to the understanding of Greek religion and the first to be published specifically on the subject in English. It is a highly original and profound examination of the myths and rites of the bisexual figure in Classical Antiquity. The theme is illustrated with material from classical sources and a fascinating subject is thoroughly explored from an historical and psychological aspect, providing what is, in effect, the psychoanalysis of a myth. Book Description
Seminar paper from the year 2004 in the subject American Studies - Literature, grade: 1,3 (A), Technical University of Braunschweig (Englisches Seminar), course: Proseminar, language: English, abstract: In this paper I want to write about the different elements from Greek mythology that appear in Jeffrey Eugenides' novel Middlesex and their connection to the characters and their lives. I want to show that the author had a certain intention when he chose the names and background of the characters. I will start with the main character of the novel, Calliope, and talk about the different elements that refer to her. Then you can read about some of her family members and how they are connected to Greek mythology in chapter three. The fourth chapter of my paper deals with the journey of Desdemona and Eleutherios. I added a map on page 19 so that it is easier to follow their way. In chapter five I will talk about the genealogical tree of the figures from Greek mythology we can find in the novel and compare it with the relationships of the family members in the novel.

Greco-Roman witches, who served a prominent hermaphroditic goddess, Hecate, were among the earliest western scientists and naturalists. Devotees of gynomorphic divinities were the first westerners to promote the religious practice known as necromancy. The first “baptists” were cross-dressing necromancers, who celebrated the Gynomorph. Eunuchs who served the same goddess were chemically castrated with scorpion venom. Ancient pre-Christian oracles declared that the messiah must be a hermaphrodite. Christianity tried to assimilate and employ the use of necromancy. The earliest Christians used designer sex drugs in their rituals in order to venerate a messiah given gynomorphic status by church bishops.
