In order for the Air Force to continue into the 21st century as the world's best and most respected, it must develop those core competencies that provide properly trained people, superior equipment and the right information - at the right place and at the right time - concerning its own fences and those of any adversary. For this reason, C4I is more important than ever, and a critical element in ensuring that the Air Force can fulfill its mission. Our military forces, although reduced in size must be highly flexible, globally responsive, and at times deadly precise. They must operate successfully in high threat, high technology environments, and in new missions such as humanitarian assistance. With revolutionary C4I technologies, we can achieve information dominance; responding accurately and effectively to the rapidly changing international scene and controlling both the increasing instability of the battlefield, and sophistication of our adversaries. Out vision is simple. We want to ensure that our warfighters have control and an omniscient view of the battlefield.
