Book Description
This is a standard reference for FAA and military air traffic control engineers and maintenance technicians focused on ground-based radar systems. With the evolution and increasing sophistication of modern radar systems, now more than ever a single-source reference is needed that contains simply understandable information on MTI, MTD, and Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon systems. There is a downside to the drive away from knowledge-based problem solving...massive increases in costs and waste inherent in the idea of lowest replaceable units. Fewer technicians are expected to manage more systems while knowing less about their equipment. This unique training and reference text will not only provide answers for day-to-day tasks, it will also help allay cost increases and waste.

Book Description
What is radar? What systems are currently in use? How do they work? Understanding Radar Systems provides engineers and scientists with answers to these critical questions, focusing on actual radar systems in use today. It's the perfect resource for those just entering the field or a quick refresher for experienced practitioners. The book leads readers through the specialized language and calculations that comprise the complex world of modern radar engineering as seen in dozens of state-of-the-art radar systems. The authors stress practical concepts that apply to all radar, keeping math to a minimum. Most of the book is based on real radar systems rather than theoretical studies. The result is a valuable, easy-to-use guide that makes the difficult parts of the field easier and helps readers do performance calculations quickly and easily.

Book Description
Since the publication of the second edition of "Introduction to Radar Systems," there has been continual development of new radar capabilities and continual improvements to the technology and practice of radar. This growth has necessitated the addition and updating of the following topics for the third edition: digital technology, automatic detection and tracking, doppler technology, airborne radar, and target recognition. The topic coverage is one of the great strengths of the text. In addition to a thorough revision of topics, and deletion of obsolete material, the author has added end-of-chapter problems to enhance the "teachability" of this classic book in the classroom, as well as for self-study for practicing engineers.

Book Description
This book takes a unique approach to radar systems, combining historical insight with technical information. To illuminate state-of-the-art designs, the author takes the reader as far back as original World War II concepts. Mathematical explanations rely only on basic trigonometric concepts, keeping the information accessible to those new to the field while providing sound technical information for experienced professionals. The book includes detailed illustrations for enhanced concept visualization, including valuable illustrations of oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer displays. The reader will appreciate the treatment of such topics as moving-target-indicator (MTI), moving-target-detector (MTD), and air traffic control radar beacon systems (ATCRBS) in air traffic control radars. End of chapter review problems, with answers provided on a separate page, test reader understanding. An illustrated appendix provides definitions and page references to aid the reader in locating more information in the text.

Book Description
The Ground Radar Systems career ladder was surveyed to obtain current task and equipment data for use in evaluating current training programs. Survey results are based on responses from 1,064 respondents (64 percent of total number surveyed). The survey sample satisfactorily represents the overall career ladder population. Three clusters and six independent jobs were identified in the career ladder analysis. The six independent jobs identified were: Maintenance Control, Maintenance Support Evaluator, Engineering and Installation, Radar Evaluation, Contract Evaluator/Quality Assurance, and Technical Order Personnel. The four jobs comprising the Radar Systems Maintenance Cluster were: Aircraft and Warning Radar Technician, Air Traffic Control Radar Technician, Mobil Air Traffic Control Radar Technician, and Automatic Tracking Radar Technician. The three jobs comprising the Supervisory and Management Cluster were: Chiefs, Superintendents, and NCOICs. The four jobs comprising the Training Cluster were: Training Manager, Instructor, Training NCO, and CDC writer.

Book Description
This book deals with the basic theory for design and analysis of Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) radar systems. The design of one such multi-frequency high resolution LPI radar, PANDORA, is covered. This work represents the first time that the topic of multi-frequency radars is discussed in such detail and it is based on research conducted by the author in The Netherlands. The book provides the design tools needed for development, design, and analysis of high resolution radar systems for commercial as well as military applications. Software written in MATLAB and C++ is provided to guide the reader in calculating radar parameters and in ambiguity function analysis. Some radar simulation software is also included.
