Excerpt from First Principles of Agriculture In the preparation of this elementary work upon the Principles of Agriculture, the author has been desirous of avoiding, as far as possible, the use of technical terms, in cases where other terms in general use would convey the same idea. When it has been necessary to employ such terms, they have been explained in the simplest possible manner, so as to render the book intelligible to all classes of readers.
