Book Description
"MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE" is my fifth book. Poetry is to educate people, to lead them away from hate to love, from violence to mercy and pity. Poetry is most compact form of literature. In this book, poems depict different aspects of human nature, changing times, present situations and nature. You read for yourself but while writing for others, one has to be aware as you articulate different situations, with positive thoughts. Sometime, pen is mightier than sword but we have to pen down our thoughts by keeping various factors in mind. I am following my dreams. I belonged to highly educated family of U.P. my parents molded me and siblings towards academic's and sports. My father was my inspiration, for my passion of writings. Poetry just happens, it connects the world. Imagination revolves around me., humanity is the biggest religion. I am polite, positive hard working and loving person.I accept life with all its drawbacks. I enjoy the simple joys, hopes, fears and life of common man in metropolis and countryside as well. Your Spiritual Lineage: Researching the Genealogy of Your Soul
Author: William Bray
Publisher: iUniverse
ISBN: 0595395163
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 236
Book Description
Your Spiritual Lineage: Researching the Genealogy of Your Soul -Pioneering a New Understanding of the Origins of Personality Development- Traditional psychology proposes that personality development begins at birth. Instead this new study proposes that each of us has subconscious memories of past lives that form a much earlier origin. A child prodigy may be selectively "remembering" talents, skills, and accomplishments from a previous lifetime that he is building on early in this one. We are drawn to professions we are familiar with because we've done them before, and may choose places to live, visit or vacation because they are pleasant and familiar to us from a past life-walking on our own faded footprints without realizing it. When one of his students, in conversation, began quoting poetry of Arthur Rimbaud without knowing it, author William E. Bray, began exploring the possibility that his student might have been Rimbaud in a past lifetime. Subsequent research led him to develop a lineage chart showing that the spiritual lineage of Rimbaud stretched back through Andre Breton, Virgil and Alexander the Great. He shows how the adventures of Aeneas would have been based on Virgil's subconscious memories of his own exploits when he would have been Alcibiades in a past life. Each chapter leads the reader through an exciting search to discover the past lives of some of the world's most important figures. The book is also written as a guide to help the reader learn how to research his own past lives.

Footprints of War
Author: David Andrew Biggs
Publisher: University of Washington Press
ISBN: 0295743875
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 280
Book Description
When American forces arrived in Vietnam, they found themselves embedded in historic village and frontier spaces already shaped by many past conflicts. American bases and bombing targets followed spatial and political logics influenced by the footprints of past wars in central Vietnam. The militarized landscapes here, like many in the worlds historic conflict zones, continue to shape post-war land-use politics. Footprints of War traces the long history of conflict-produced spaces in Vietnam, beginning with early modern wars and the French colonial invasion in 1885 and continuing through the collapse of the Saigon government in 1975. The result is a richly textured history of militarized landscapes that reveals the spatial logic of key battles such as the Tet Offensive. Drawing on extensive archival work and years of interviews and fieldwork in the hills and villages around the city of Hue to illuminate wars footprints, David Biggs also integrates historical Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, using aerial, high-altitude, and satellite imagery to render otherwise placeless sites into living, multidimensional spaces. This personal and multilayered approach yields an innovative history of the lasting traces of war in Vietnam and a model for understanding other militarized landscapes.

A Library of the World's Best Literature - Ancient and Modern - Vol. VIII (Forty-Five Volumes); Calvin-Cervantes
Author: Charles Dudley Warner
Publisher: Cosimo, Inc.
ISBN: 1605202010
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 414
Book Description
Popular American essayist, novelist, and journalist CHARLES DUDLEY WARNER (1829-1900) was renowned for the warmth and intimacy of his writing, which encompassed travelogue, biography and autobiography, fiction, and more, and influenced entire generations of his fellow writers. Here, the prolific writer turned editor for his final grand work, a splendid survey of global literature, classic and modern, and it's not too much to suggest that if his friend and colleague Mark Twain-who stole Warner's quip about how "everybody complains about the weather, but nobody does anything about it"-had assembled this set, it would still be hailed today as one of the great achievements of the book world. Highlights from Volume 8 include: . John Calvin on predestination and free will . poems of Thomas Campbell and Campion . political and culutral criticism by Thomas Carlyle . excerpts from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland . excerpt from Casanova's adventures . verse by Catullus . songs and poems from Celtic literature . selections from Cervantes' Don Quixote . and much, much more.

Tricia Goyer WWII Series: Includes 4 titles
Author: Tricia Goyer
Publisher: Moody Publishers
ISBN: 0802482953
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 1475
Book Description
This set includes all four books of the Tricia Goyer WWII series: From Dust and Ashes, Night Song, Dawn of a Thousand Nights, and Arms of Deliverance. In From Dust and Ashes, it is 1945 and a group of American soldiers liberate a Nazi concentration camp. Helene is the abandoned wife of an SS guard who has fled to avoid arrest. Overcome by guilt, she begins to help meet the needs of survivors. Throughout the process, she finds her own liberation - from spiritual bondage, sin, and guilt. Readers will be intrigued and touched by this fascinating story of love, faithfulness, and courage amidst one of the darkest chapters of mankind's history. In Night Song, Tricia Goyer tells the little-known but true story of the orchestra started by prisoners in Hitler's Mauthausen death camp. This courageous orchestra played the American national anthem as Allied troops arrived to liberate the camps. Around the orchestra story, Tricia weaves the fictional stories of a beautiful member of the Austrian resistance, the American GI who loves her, and a young prisoner who fakes his way into the camp orchestra in a desperate attempt to stay alive. In Dawn of a Thousand Nights, readers journey with Dan Fletcher and Libby Conner, both U.S. pilots fighting in WWII's Pacific Theater. Fletcher is captured by the Japanese and is forced to endure the horror of the Bataan Death March in the Philippines. It is here that he encounters Natsu Hidiki, a guard whose nagging conscience won't let him ignore the human degradation in which he is participating. Libby Conner is a WASP (Women's Air Force Service Pilot), who ferries military planes between Hawaii and the South Pacific. By the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor, she has turned the head of Fletcher in no small way. Readers will be captivated by this tale of dignity and honor triumphing in the midst of a very dark time in history. In Arms ofDeliverance, Mary and Lee have gone from best friends to competing WWII journalists, but a bombing raid gone wrong puts Mary's life at risk and sends Lee on a heroic rescue attempt through the fierce teeth of combat. Then, amidst an adventurous struggle for freedom, they uncover the story of the unspeakable Lebensborn atrocity. With equal doses of adrenaline and poignancy, Tricia Goyer's storytelling places readers not only behind enemy lines into the heat of battle, but also deep into the innermost sanctuary of the human heart.
