INM Integrated Noise Model Version 2. Programmer's Guide
Author:
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 130
Book Description
This document contains information on the procedures to implement the Integrated Noise Model (INM), Version 2 on to a computer system. The INM is a collection of computer programs which can calculate the aircraft noise environment in the vicinity of an airport. The INM is available from the FAA in the form of a magnetic tape. INM Version 2 supersedes Version 1 which was released in January 1978. This document replace 'FAA Integrated Noise Model, Version 1, Computer Installation Instructions' (Report No. FAA-EQ-78-03).

FAA integrated noise model user's guide
Author: Peter A. Mansbach
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Airport noise
Languages : en
Pages : 113
Book Description
The FAA Integrated Noise Model (INM) provides a conceptually simple method for characterizing aircraft noise near airports. It includes a determination of the total time that the sound level exceeds six different thresholds, and also the equivalent A-weighted sound level, L sub eq, and the day-night average sound level, L sub dn, at a number of points surrounding a particular airport. Evening and nighttime exposures are broken out separately. Thus, several methodologies are integrated into a single model which provides a very complete picture of the noise environment. The computer program INMPROG is available to calculate all of the above information and to present it in tabular form. Plotter output is also generated, for contours of equal exposures to levels above 85 dBA. Equal L sub dn contours may be produced instead, at the user's option. This manual is intended to guide the user of the model through the preparation of data required by this program. A description of the airport and its operations must be assembled onto data forms. A separate chapter specifies the punched card formats, so that the punching of cards is distinct from the collection of data. Technical appendices provide the information required for a computer center to bring up and run the program. (Author).

FAA integrated noise model data base
Author: Peter A. Mansbach
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Airport noise
Languages : en
Pages : 103
Book Description
The FAA Integrated Noise Model computer program INMPROG has been made available to the public for computing a variety of noise indices in the vicinity of airports. One component of this program package is a data library which provides both acoustic and operational data for certain standard aircraft types and flight procedures. This paper presents the data used to construct the supplied program library. It thus provides the information needed to reproduce a particular analysis. Further, it provides a necessary reference point for the user who specifies his own operational procedures. (Author).
