La stratégie thérapeutique en cancérologie a évolué depuis ces dernières années avec l’utilisation croissante des chimiothérapies orales dans de nombreuses indications, développant la prise en charge en ambulatoire du patient qui devient par la même occasion l’acteur principal de son traitement médicamenteux. Un programme d’éducation thérapeutique des patients traités par une chimiothérapie orale s’est développé depuis 2013 dans le service d’onco-gastroentérologie au CHRU de Tours. L’objectif de ce travail a été d’analyser les patients déjà suivis dans le programme afin de mettre en évidence les particularités liées au traitement chimiothérapeutique sur lesquels le pharmacien pourrait intervenir, puis de mettre en place les consultations et les séances pharmaceutiques. Une étude rétrospective sur une période de 20 mois, incluant 72 patients traités par 9 chimiothérapies orales différentes a été réalisée, révélant un nombre élevé d’effets indésirables et d’interactions médicamenteuses survenus chez la plupart des patients, dont la durée de traitement était variable en fonction de la pathologie cancéreuse prise en charge. Des consultations pharmaceutiques ont été mises en place dès l’instauration du traitement pour accompagner le patient dans la gestion de sa chimiothérapie. Les points importants abordés lors des séances individuelles ou collectives dans lesquelles intervient le pharmacien ont été développés selon les observations réalisées afin de mieux correspondre aux besoins du patient selon sa thérapie et sa pathologie cancéreuse. Cette thèse constitue un travail préliminaire dans les interventions du pharmacien dans un programme d’éducation thérapeutique en cancérologie.
