Objectif : Le but de cette étude était de caractériser mécaniquement l'adhésion d'une résine composite sur une surface dentinaire préparée au laser Er:YAG, avec ou sans application d'un agent acide. Matériels et méthodes : 45 molaires humaines ont été incluses dans une résine transparente et coupées au niveau coronaire afin d'obtenir des surfaces de dentine parfaitement planes et polies. Elles ont été réparties en trois groupes : Groupe A : préparation de la surface à l'aide d'une fraise carbure de tungstène montée sur turbine sous spray d'eau et application d'acide orthophosphorique pendant 15 secondes. Goupe B : préparation de la surface à l'aide du laser Er:YAG sous spray d'eau (500 mJ/pulse, 10 Hz, fluence de 44,21 J/cm2). Groupe C : préparation de la surface à l'aide du laser Er:YAG sous spray d'eau et application d'acide orthophosphorique pendant 15 secondes. Des plots de composite ont été collés sur les surfaces ainsi préparées et un test de résistance au cisaillement a été appliqué. Résultats : Les contraintes de rupture en cisaillement étaient de 16,74 ± 6,24 dans le groupe A, 20,33 ± 4,76 dans le groupe B et 17,59 ± 5,96 dans le groupe C. La comparaison des moyennes par le test de Kruskal Wallis n'a pas mis en évidence de différence significative entre les trois types de traitement de la surface dentinaire (p=0,162). Le type de fracture observée était indépendant du type de traitement appliqué sur la surface dentinaire (p=0,648). Conclusion : Aucune différence n'a pu être mise en évidence entre le collage à une dentine préparée de manière classique au moyen d'une fraise en carbure de tungstène et le collage à une dentine préparée au moyen du laser Er:YAG. De plus, dans le cas du laser, l'application d'acide orthophosphorique au début de la procédure de collage n'a pas permis d'améliorer l'adhésion.
