L'obligation de formation continue incombe à l'ensemble des professionnels de santé et représente un sujet d'actualité. Le travail a pour objectif d'analyser le système de formation continue des chirurgiens-dentistes, ainsi que son évolution récente. Dans une première partie, sont décrites les notions de Formation Médicale Continue et d'Evaluation des Pratiques Professionnelles, ainsi que le système actuel de Développement Professionnel Continu (DPC), comparé avec d'autres systèmes, notamment en Europe. Ce système ayant suscité un certain nombre de critiques a été réévalué dans la Loi du 26 janvier 2016, avec notamment la création du Conseil National des Professionnels (CNP). La seconde partie du travail concerne une enquête réalisée auprès des chirurgiens-dentistes en Ile-de-France, dans le but d'évaluer leurs attentes et leur intérêt pour la formation continue. Les prochains décrets qui seront présentés durant l'année 2017, permettront de vérifier la prise en compte des attentes des chirurgiens-dentistes, objectivées dans cette thèse.
