Book Description
Stepbrothers Domino and Henry Fallon have known for years that they’re meant to share a mate. Domino, a rare albino panther, and Henry, a mountain lion, are ready to start the next chapter of their lives and find their mate. Ehrin Knox knows why the alpha of her hawk nest called her to his home on a chilly spring morning – it’s not for a cup of tea, but to tell her she’s banned from the nest. Because she was never able to shift, Ehrin couldn’t secure a mate, and once she reached twenty-one and was still unmated, it was the end of the line for her. When Domino hosts an art exhibit at the school’s open house, a beautiful redheaded female immediately goes into distress when she sees him. He knows the moment he sees her that she’s their shared mate, and he calls Henry. Once the three are together, Ehrin shifts into a stunning red-tailed hawk. But her family isn't happy she wants to stay in Ashland with the pride. When they show up demanding she choose, will she pick her mates or her family?

Book Description
Stepbrothers Domino and Henry Fallon have known for years that they're meant to share a mate. Domino, a rare albino panther, and Henry, a mountain lion, are ready to start the next chapter of their lives and find their mate. Ehrin Knox knows why the alpha of her hawk nest called her to his home on a chilly spring morning ? it's not for a cup of tea, but to tell her she's banned from the nest. Because she was never able to shift, Ehrin couldn't secure a mate, and once she reached twenty-one and was still unmated, it was the end of the line for her. Only mated males and females could stay in the nest after age twenty-one, an archaic and unfair rule as far as she was concerned. Saying goodbye to her family, she leaves for her friend's home in Ashland, Indiana, until she can find work and a place to live. When Domino hosts an art exhibit at the school's open house, a beautiful redheaded female immediately goes into distress when she sees him. Domino knows the moment he sees her that she's their shared mate, and he calls Henry. Once the three are together, Ehrin shifts into a stunning red-tailed hawk. Ehrin's surprised when her parents show up in Ashland, with her former alpha bringing along a hawk male to mate with her. They want her to choose the hawk and come home. When she can't have both, will Ehrin choose the pride or her family? Contains m/f/m interaction, a brokenhearted hawk shifter, and the two males who would do anything to make her happy.

Book Description
2022 NATIONAL INDIE EXCELLENCE AWARDS FINALIST — SOCIAL/POLITICAL CHANGE • 2022 ASJA ANNUAL WRITING AWARD WINNER — SERVICE • 2022 NAUTILUS BOOK AWARDS GOLD MEDALIST — SOCIAL CHANGE & SOCIAL JUSTICE • 2022 AXIOM BUSINESS BOOK AWARD GOLD MEDALIST — PHILANTHROPY/NONPROFIT/SUSTAINABILITY How do we vote with our dollars, not just to make ourselves feel good, but to make a real difference? Wallet Activism challenges you to rethink your financial power so can feel confident spending, earning, and saving money in ways that align with your values. While we call the American system a democracy, capitalism is the far more powerful force in our lives. The greatest power we have—especially when political leaders won’t move quickly enough—is how we use our money: where we shop, what we buy, where we live, what institutions we entrust with our money, who we work for, and where we donate determines the trajectory of our society and our planet. While our votes and voices are essential, too, Wallet Activism helps you use your money for real impact. It can feel overwhelming to determine “the right way” to spend: a choice that might seem beneficial to the environment may have unintended consequences that hurt people. And marketers are constantly lying to you, making it hard to know what choice is best. Wallet Activism empowers us to vote with our wallets by making sense of all the information coming at us, and teaching us to cultivate a more holistic mindset that considers the complex, interrelated ecosystems of people and the planet together, not as opposing forces. From Tanja Hester, Our Next Life blogger and author of Work Optional, comes the mindset-shifting guide to help you put your money where your values are. Wallet Activism is not a list of dos and don’ts that will soon become outdated, nor does it call for anti-consumerist perfection. Instead, it goes beyond simple purchasing decisions to explore: The impacts a financial decision can have across society and the environment How to create a personal spending philosophy based on your values Practical questions to quickly assess the “goodness” of a product or an entity you may buy from The ethics of earning money, choosing what foods to eat, employing others, investing responsibly, choosing where to live, and giving money away For anyone interested in leaving the world better than you found it, Wallet Activism helps you build habits that will make your money matter.

What Parish Are You From?
Author: Eileen M. McMahon
Publisher: University Press of Kentucky
ISBN: 0813149274
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 239
Book Description
For Irish Americans as well as for Chicago's other ethnic groups, the local parish once formed the nucleus of daily life. Focusing on the parish of St. Sabina's in the southwest Chicago neighborhood of Auburn-Gresham, Eileen McMahon takes a penetrating look at the response of Catholic ethnics to life in twentieth-century America. She reveals the role the parish church played in achieving a cohesive and vital ethnic neighborhood and shows how ethno-religious distinctions gave way to racial differences as a central point of identity and conflict. For most of this century the parish served as an important mechanism for helping Irish Catholics cope with a dominant Protestant-American culture. Anti-Catholicism in the society at large contributed to dependency on parishes and to a desire for separateness from the American mainstream. As much as Catholics may have wanted to insulate themselves in their parish communities, however, Chicago demographics and the fluid nature of the larger society made this ultimately impossible. Despite efforts at integration attempted by St. Sabina's liberal clergy, white parishioners viewed black migration into their neighborhood as a threat to their way of life and resisted it even as they relocated to the suburbs. The transition from white to black neighborhoods and parishes is a major theme of twentieth-century urban history. The experience of St. Sabina's, which changed from a predominantly Irish parish to a vibrant African-American Catholic community, provides insights into this social trend and suggests how the interplay between faith and ethnicity contributes to a resistance to change.

Book Description
She's on the run for her life ... As a child, she-wolf healer Reika Snow was promised as a mate to three were-lynxes to prevent a war between her pack and the lynx clan. Her freedom is coming to an end as her twenty-third birthday arrives. With her bleak future as the subjugated bride of the three males looms near, she does the only thing she can think of ... she runs. With the lynxes hot on her tail, the only thing she can do is pray she can find safety, somewhere. He's not going to let her get far ... Bo Elliot, highly ranked member of the Tressel wolf pack, rescues a she-wolf from the claws of three were-lynxes as they attempt to capture her. When she awakens, he's surprised to find himself staring into the beautiful blue eyes of his truemate. With his bum leg, Bo doesn't want to tie Reika down to a wounded male like himself by acknowledging that they're mates, but he vows to set her free from the lynxes and give her back her life. It will take every trick in Bo's book to keep Reika from taking off on her own in a misguided attempt to spare him from getting tangled up in the hot mess of her life, but Bo will do anything for his truemate, even if it means walking away once she's free. This book contains a scarred wolf with a heart of gold, a she-wolf healer who wants to protect her truemate at any cost, and a wolf-on-lynx battle that will determine where Reika spends the rest of her life. Readers should expect possessive werewolves, passionate sex, neck biting, and the kind of horniness that only the full moon can bring.
