Book Description
As a consequence of the wide distribution of software and software infrastructure, information security and safety depend on the quality and excellent understanding of its functioning. Only if this functionality is guaranteed as safe, customer and information are protected against adversarial attacks and malfunction. A vast proportion of information exchange is dominated by computer systems. Due to the fact that technical systems are more or less interfaced with software systems, most information exchange is closely related to software and computer systems.

Book Description
This open access book constitutes the proceedings of the 30th European Symposium on Programming, ESOP 2021, which was held during March 27 until April 1, 2021, as part of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software, ETAPS 2021. The conference was planned to take place in Luxembourg and changed to an online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 24 papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 79 submissions. They deal with fundamental issues in the specification, design, analysis, and implementation of programming languages and systems.

Book Description
The goal of the International Conference on Software Composition is to advance the state of research on modularity and reuse in the context of software development based on components, services, features, or models. Software composition is becoming more and more important as innovation in software engineering shifts from the development of individual components to their reuse and recombination in novel ways. To this end, for the 2010 edition, researchers were solicited to contribute on topics such as component adaptation techniques, composition languages, modeling, as well as emerging composition techniques such as aspect-oriented programming, servi- oriented architectures, and mashups. In line with previous editions of SC, contri- tions were sought focusing on both theory and practice, with a particular interest in efforts relating them. This LNCS volume contains the proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Software Composition, which was held during July 1–2, 2010, as a collocated event of the TOOLS 2010 Federated Conferences, in Malaga, Spain.

Book Description
The Transactions on Pattern Languages of Programming subline aims to publish papers on patterns and pattern languages as applied to software design, development, and use, throughout all phases of the software life cycle, from requirements and design to implementation, maintenance and evolution. The primary focus of this LNCS Transactions subline is on patterns, pattern collections, and pattern languages themselves. The journal also includes reviews, survey articles, criticisms of patterns and pattern languages, as well as other research on patterns and pattern languages. This book, the third volume in the Transactions on Pattern Languages of Programming series, presents five papers that have been through a careful peer review process involving both pattern experts and domain experts. The papers present various pattern languages and a study of applying patterns and represent some of the best work that has been carried out in design patterns and pattern languages of programming over the last few years.

Book Description
Software systems play a central role in modern society, and their correctness is often crucially important. Formal specification and verification are promising approaches for ensuring correctness more rigorously than just by testing. This work presents an approach for deductively verifying design-by-contract specifications of object-oriented programs. The approach is based on dynamic logic, and addresses the challenges of modularity and automation using dynamic frames and predicate abstraction.

Book Description
Our society continues to depend upon systems that are built in a way that they end up being inflexible and intolerant to change. Therefore there is an urgent need to investigate innovations and approaches to the management of adaptive and dependable systems. These studies are usually implemented through design, development, and the evaluation of techniques and models to structure computer systems as adaptive systems. Innovations and Approaches for Resilient and Adaptive Systems is a comprehensive collection of knowledge on increasing the notions and models in adaptive and dependable systems. This book aims to enhance the awareness of the role of adaptability and resilience in system environments for researchers, practitioners, educators, and professionals alike.
