Book Description
These journal chapters of ALIVE! Volume 2 are descriptive of the author's walks outdoors enjoying nature and communing with the Lord whom he loved. Dr. Fowler writes, "The title of this book is spelled with five full capitalized uppercase letters (A-L-I-V-E) followed by a throbbing exclamation point (!) so that it will be read as a celebrational shout, an exultant affirmation upon a silver trumpet. Its title is not simply 'ALIVE!' The word 'alive' is merely a word spoken as a word, nothing more, whereas this book and title ALIVE! are both explosive shouts of joy-a vital joy that is at once exultant and serenely calm. There is a disposition, a healthful state of soul, an attitude toward the allness of life in these pages which is greater than any single insight or described experience in any one chapter. "Glad-to-be-alive is the theme which most occupies this book." Samuel W. Fowler was born November 30, 1934, in Washington, D.C. He trusted Christ as his Savior October 12, 1954. He received his Th.D.from Dallas Theological Seminary and was professor of Bible and Theology for 43 years in several Bible colleges. His unique teaching and preaching style reached many students who are now serving the Lord around the world. He also served as interim pastor and full-time pastor in several churches. Dr. Fowler's previous works Coping Strategies, Meditations on the Glory of God, Afoot and Delighthearted, and ALIVE! Volume 1 have been a blessing to many Christians. Although Dr. Fowler's expertise was in Bible and Theology, he also had a deep love of nature, which inspired him to become a poet. Dr. Fowler was ushered into the presence of His Glory on July 11, 2008.

Book Description
‘The Discarded Brick’, a three season trilogy, in two volumes, is set in Africa, Europe and North America. It is about the travels and experiences of the author. In Volume 2, Season 3, the author and his family return to his home country. Back in Uganda, he was initially welcomed by all with open arms, like the prodigal son. He works on several jobs for the government and in the private sector, till he settles for communication consultancy. Most of these jobs again involved travel within and outside the country. This included a stint in the United States, Greece, Germany and more countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. However, as his brother and guardian, who had earlier lost his only son inched closer to becoming an octogenarian, some of his immediate family members started treating the author like an intruder in their midst. Not everyone was happy to co-exist with him anymore. Fears and intrigue led to a family split, legal battles and irreconcilable differences. He and his siblings were treated like social pariahs that had to be avoided like the pest by some relatives, and this even sucked in some members of his immediate family, who imposed a perennial domestic banishment on him.

Book Description
A comparison of the message of Acts transmitted by Codez Bezae with that of the more familiar Alexandrian text, represented by Codex Vaticanus. For each section of Acts, there is a side by side translation of the Bezan and Alexandrian manuscripts, followed by a critical apparatus and, finally, a commentary that explores the differences in the message of the two texts. It is concluded that the Bezan text, with its interest in internal Jewish affairs and its focus on the struggles of the early disciples to free themselves from their traditional Jewish expectations and to achieve, despite their mistakes, a more accurate understanding of their master's teaching, is the earlier of the two texts. Book Description
This volume explores the range and uses of quotations, echoes, and allusions drawn from thousands of intertextual instances that Kireevskii has recognized in his work. The principal interest of the echoes examined here lies in the revaluation of the poet and the theoretical issues his varied use of them suggests. Through echoing, Kireevskii embodies and explicates his assertions of continuity in human development, his vision of interchange between the mind and nature. As a poet, he is a person who constantly experiences, sees, hears, suspects, hopes, and dreams extraordinary things; is struck by his own thoughts as if from outside or from above and below, as if by his type of events and lightning bolts; is perhaps a storm himself, pregnant with new lightning; and is a fatal person in whose vicinity things are always rumbling, growling, gaping, and acting in uncanny ways. Listen very carefully because Kireevskii writes in a very symbolic form, and unless you are very alert in reading his words, you may miss all the implications. The reason why he is so symbolic is that he is so full of new insights and he has so much he desires to share and to give. As with a hermit’s writings, you can always hear something of the echo of the desert, something of the whisper and the timid sideways glance of solitude—a concealed philosophy where every opinion is also a hiding place, every word is also a mask.
