Predicting Human Decision-Making
Author: Ariel Geib
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3031015789
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 134
Book Description
Human decision-making often transcends our formal models of "rationality." Designing intelligent agents that interact proficiently with people necessitates the modeling of human behavior and the prediction of their decisions. In this book, we explore the task of automatically predicting human decision-making and its use in designing intelligent human-aware automated computer systems of varying natures—from purely conflicting interaction settings (e.g., security and games) to fully cooperative interaction settings (e.g., autonomous driving and personal robotic assistants). We explore the techniques, algorithms, and empirical methodologies for meeting the challenges that arise from the above tasks and illustrate major benefits from the use of these computational solutions in real-world application domains such as security, negotiations, argumentative interactions, voting systems, autonomous driving, and games. The book presents both the traditional and classical methods as well as the most recent and cutting edge advances, providing the reader with a panorama of the challenges and solutions in predicting human decision-making.

Unsettled Topics Concerning Sensors for Automated Road Vehicles
Author: Sven Beiker
Publisher: SAE International
ISBN: 1468608770
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 36
Book Description
This SAE EDGE™ Research Report identifies key unsettled issues of interest to the automotive industry regarding the new generation of sensors designed for vehicles capable of automated driving. Four main issues are outlined that merit immediate interest: First, specifying a standardized terminology and taxonomy to be used for discussing the sensors required by automated vehicles. Second, generating standardized tests and procedures for verifying, simulating, and calibrating automated driving sensors. Third, creating a standardized set of tools and methods to ensure the security, robustness, and integrity of data collected by such sensors. The fourth issue, regarding the ownership and privacy of data collected by automated vehicle sensors, is considered only briefly here since its scope far exceeds the technical issues that are the primary focus of the present report. SAE EDGE™ Research Reports are preliminary investigations of new technologies. The three technical issues identified in this report need to be discussed in greater depth with the aims of, first, clarifying the scope of the industry-wide alignment needed, second, prioritizing the issues requiring resolution, and, third, creating a plan to generate the necessary frameworks, practices, and protocols. God is on the Road
Author: Paul Dixon PhD
Publisher: WestBow Press
ISBN: 1973699206
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 124
Book Description
GOD IS ON THE ROAD Would you like to grow in awareness of God’s presence in your life? Paul Dixon shows how experiences of driving lead to reflections on living, alerting us to the inner pilgrimage—a journey we are all called to make. Whether you are a believer or an unbeliever, God is on the highway of life and He wants to journey with you. This book’s metaphoric use of driving and the road scene will help you to listen and respond to God who is deeply in love with you. God is on the Road is written for the general reader. It is a Christian spiritual book, yet relevant for all seeking love. The book functions like a pair of divine driving glasses, helping you glimpse God’s presence in your life. Each chapter is packed with short reflections to be dipped into a little at a time, challenging you to reflect on your life—your love story—with and to God. “God is on the Road is designed to help the reader to slow down and spend time with God. There are many aphorisms that stop the reader in his (her) tracks. This book would make an excellent addition to the seminarian reading list. Its many comparisons would provide some telling anecdotes for Sunday homilists. This is an original, thoughtful and helpful book.” Canon David Annear (Ret.), Diocese of Plymouth, United Kingdom.
