Book Description
I wanted to gist of different writers in the globe and my own experiences in different places regarding social dogma, in various aspect and appeal to repeal the text which are wrong in the present situation of the world order. There is nothing wrong to say that everything in this world is changing nothing is fixed and nothing is immoveable in this universe. We have seen in the name of religion, 30 lakhs people killed in 1971 in Bangladesh freedom wars. More than 2 lakhs women or girls raped, and this was declared by then Shaik Mujib PM of that country. I don’t think British has killed so many people in their nearly 200 years being administrators. Few days back Shaikh Hassina PM of Bangladesh has asked fundamentalist that God is there to punish if anyone do any sin and those who believe in God should, must not take weapons in their own hand to punish anybody in the name of God. If they do so that means they have no faith in God.

Advance and Destroy
Author: John Rickard
Publisher: University Press of Kentucky
ISBN: 0813134560
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 530
Book Description
In the winter of 1944–1945, Hitler sought to divide Allied forces in the heavily forested Ardennes region of Luxembourg and Belgium. He deployed more than 400,000 troops in one of the last major German offensives of the war, which became known as the Battle of the Bulge, in a desperate attempt to regain the strategic initiative in the West. Hitler’s effort failed for a variety of reasons, but many historians assert that Lieutenant General George S. Patton Jr.’s Third Army was ultimately responsible for securing Allied victory. Although Patton has assumed a larger-than-life reputation for his leadership in the years since World War II, scholars have paid little attention to his generalship in the Ardennes following the relief of Bastogne. In Advance and Destroy, Captain John Nelson Rickard explores the commander’s operational performance during the entire Ardennes campaign, through his “estimate of the situation,” the U.S. Army’s doctrinal approach to problem-solving. Patton’s day-by-day situational understanding of the Battle of the Bulge, as revealed through ULTRA intelligence and the influence of the other Allied generals on his decision-making, gives readers an in-depth, critical analysis of Patton’s overall effectiveness, measured in terms of mission accomplishment, his ability to gain and hold ground, and a cost-benefit analysis of his operations relative to the lives of his soldiers. The work not only debunks myths about one of America’s most controversial generals but provides new insights into his renowned military skill and colorful personality.

Clear, Hold, and Destroy
Author: Robert J. Thompson
Publisher: University of Oklahoma Press
ISBN: 0806169818
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 281
Book Description
By the end of the American War in Vietnam, the coastal province of Phú Yên was one of the least-secure provinces in the Republic of Vietnam. It was also a prominent target of the American strategy of pacification—an effort, purportedly separate and distinct from conventional warfare, to win the “hearts and minds” of the Vietnamese. In Robert J. Thompson III’s analysis, the consistent, and consistently unsuccessful, struggle to place Phú Yên under Saigon’s banner makes the province particularly fertile ground for studying how the Americans advanced pacification and why this effort ultimately failed. In March 1970 a disastrous military engagement began in Phú Yên, revealing the enemy’s continued presence after more than three years of pacification. Clear, Hold, and Destroy provides a fresh perspective on the war across multiple levels, from those making and implementing policy to those affected by it. Most pointedly, Thompson contends that pacification, far from existing apart from conventional warfare, actually depended on conventional military forces for its application. His study reaches back into Phú Yên’s storied history with pacification before and during the French colonial period, then focuses on the province from the onset of the American war in 1965 to its conclusion in 1975. A sharply focused, fine-grained analysis of one critical province during the Vietnam War, Thompson’s work demonstrates how pacification is better understood as the foundation of U.S. fighting in Vietnam.

Search and Destroy
Author: Keith W. Nolan
Publisher: Quarto Publishing Group USA
ISBN: 1610600754
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 465
Book Description
Using firsthand accounts from Vietnam soldiers, this book “tells it like it is, warts and all . . . [an] honest account of a cavalry squadron’s experience” (Military Review). The 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, of the 1st Armored Division deployed to Vietnam from Fort Hood, Texas, in August 1967. Search and Destroy covers the 1/1’s harrowing first year and a half of combat in the war’s toughest area of operations: I Corps. The book takes readers into the savage action at infamous places like Tam Ky, the Que Son Valley, the Pineapple Forest, Hill 34, and Cigar Island, chronicling General Westmoreland’s search-and-destroy war of attrition against the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army. Exploring the gray areas of guerrilla war, military historian Keith Nolan details moments of great compassion toward the Vietnamese, but also eruptions of My Lai-like violence, the grimmer aspects of the 1/1’s successes. Search and Destroy is a rare account of an exemplary fighting force in action, a dramatic close-up look at the Vietnam War. “Nolan’s research, his comprehension of the political as well as the military actions, his careful concern for those who were there, and, most of all, his writing, are superb.” —Stephen Ambrose

ISBN: 161215011X
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 188
Book Description
Do you perhaps believe that we here on planet earth are alone in this universe or believe that we came from some evolution? Or do you subscribe to the ever popular "big bang theory"? Please! Be assured by all of the evidence that smacks us in the face every minute of every day proves there is a supreme and all wise and all knowing creator and a spirit realm that is far superior and more powerful than we humans and He has placed us all in the middle of a spiritual battle against these beings, something that defies human limits of imagination. This battle is for the prize of eternity that begins right after our last breath called death. How and when this death occurs is not nearly as important as what comes after. Our creator tells us that He has given human life a limited physical life span yet eternal in the spirit realm and that after our physical death, we then face His judgment for all of our actions (read Hebrews 9:27 and Revelations 20:13). Depending on the basis of our relationship to Him determines where we will spend the rest of eternity. The question for you is, where do I want to fit in? We are here and in this battlefield whether we believe it, like it, agree or disagree with it or not.The critical subjects of God, satan, angels, demons and our part in all of this are covered in this important book. It is critical to your eternal future for you to gain this knowledge and even God Himself said "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). Destroyed by whom or what? The answers are in the pages of this book!
