Book Description
Detective Sergeant Donald Dombrowski and his partner, Detective Katie Callahan, are not convinced that the body, found slumped in the driver’s seat in the exhaust-choked garage, is really a suicide. Will this be the only homicide staged to appear otherwise? The investigation winds through shady real estate scams, illicit mobile drug labs, money laundering, kidnapping, and murder. As the detectives delve deeper, violence and the body count escalate. Meanwhile, Dombrowski must fend off his sister’s well-intentioned, yet unwelcome, attempts to set him up with any one of her issue-laden divorced girlfriends. Equally distracted, Katie must face the helpless frustrations of dealing with her father's early onset Alzheimer’s. All the while, she must tactfully discourage the attentions of young officers vying to be noticed by the attractive detective. Can circumstances get any worse? Ever heard of Murphy's Law? Count on it.

Book Description
Today, many of us have lost our appreciation of the beauty of covenant theology and covenant community, and this has had dire consequences for us, resulting in misunderstandings of theology and individualism and isolationism in the church. Author Sarah Ivill believes that a key solution to this problem is a robust understanding of covenant theology, which will deepen our knowledge of Scripture and enable us to truly serve our sisters by pointing them to Christ. In The Covenantal Life , the author clearly and concisely sets forth the beauty of covenant theology and covenant community and encourages us to learn sound doctrine so that we can think biblically about the circumstances in our lives—and then help our sisters in Christ to do so as well.

Book Description
The first letter of John can rightly be called the Canticle of Canticles of the New Testament. Because of the power of its message which Augustine saw as a prolonged meditation on the love proper to God and to the Christian community, and the exquisite beauty of its form which invites and yet transcends analysis, the Letter has merited the privileged attention accorded to it by centuries of study, contemplation and liturgical celebration. In our own day the Letter is no less scrutinized, meditated and proclaimed. Indeed, the religious sensibility of our times reveals itself as particularly attuned to the Johannine articulation of Christian experience which is characterized by an emphasis upon interiorly, personal relationships, and discernment. The Letter begins not with the normal form of epistolary address, but rather with a solemn and moving Prologue which sets the tone for all that follows. The author situates himself among the privileged witnesses of Christ: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which are have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld and our hands have felt, concerning the word of life (1,1). His message is about eternal life, that fullness of knowledge and love which belong to God alone, and which the Father willed to share with us by sending His Son Jesus Christ.

Book Description
MER is the fifth volume of THE STEWARD series, an epic contemporary tale in which folklore and fantasy enmesh with physics and forensics. Ellen Doyle must accept two facts. Firstly, she is named heir to the Stewardship of the hidden Grand Portal to the Multiverse, which unfortunately doesn't come with instructions. Secondly, and perhaps more unsettling, many of the creatures of myth and folklore are real--some of whom hide in plain sight. Strange things happen to Ellen and the people around her. Some go missing; some die. The authorities investigate, frustrated at the scarcity of evidence. An earnest young detective is smitten with Ellen, a potentially dangerous distraction that threatens to compromise the integrity of the growing number of baffling cases. Life for all involved will never be quite the same. Ellen and her friends withstood the trials and tribulations they faced in Volumes 1 through 4 of the series (Domaine Delafaire, Realms of Possibility, Alas The Best Laid Plans, and Storm Haven). Yet, in karmic irony, she will now be called upon to meet the more significant and most personal challenges she could imagine, with an entire realm and its unaware inhabitants at risk, the renown festive holiday destination, the water world, MER. How can an entire realm suddenly be at risk, and only a handful of perplexed people be aware? How can organized-crime threaten realms of the Multiverse with such perverse and rampant drug addiction? Is this a long-term strategy to create and control an immense black market, or a far more subtle and sinister bid for ultimate power? Perhaps even worse, will the steadily increasing frequency of necromantic incidents herald a resurgence of roaming legions of ravenous deceased, led by another Lord of the Dead? Ellen Doyle, Steward of the Grand Portal of the Realm of Man, there's a call for you . . .

Book Description
In the development of Covenant Works I follow neither the way of the seventeenth-century Federal Theology, nor the way of nineteenth-century Critical Theology, nor the way of twentieth-century Federal Vision, nor the way of a compromise. Covenant Works lays open the Scriptures' biblical structure. The author integrates the covenant, Christology, the trinity, the kingdom, the church, and historical linearity into the Scriptures to reveal its architectonic unity.

Book Description
This book is excerpted from CONNECTIONS: A Guide to Types and Symbols in the Bible. - By Glen Carpenter The first section discusses the spiritual meanings of the nine major covenants of the Bible: Edenic, Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosaic, Palestinian, Levitical, Davidic and finally the New Covenant. It especially focuses on five facets of each covenant: Promises, Responsibilities, Separation, Transition and Fulfillment. In each area, each of the nine covenants powerfully foreshadows our amazing New Covenant in Jesus' blood. The second section shows the deep differences between the "Old Covenant" of Moses, and the "New Covenant" of Jesus. This includes important truths that many in the Christian world are in need of.

Book Description
Examines how the form and function of the Covenants were shorn of religious implications and repurposed, serving a pluralistic vision of the role of religion in politics and public life. Until now, scholarship on the Covenants has mainly focussed on their role in the conflicts of the 1640s, with discussion of the Covenants after 1660 mostly limited to the context of violent Scottish radicalism. This book moves beyond a rigid focus on Scotland to explore the legacy of the Covenants in England. It examines the discourse surrounding key events in the Restoration period and traces the influence of the Covenants in the context of radical Presbyterianism, and in mainstream debates around politics, church government, and the constitution of the British kingdoms. The Covenants continued to have relevance in two primary respects. Firstly, the Covenants were used as reference points for discussing the competing legacies of the English and Scottish Reformations and the confused issues of church and state that defined the Restoration period. Furthermore, the form of the Covenants as solemn individual subscriptions to a constitutional and religious model, and the political ideas that underpinned them, were emulated by those seeking to resist royal authority during the Exclusion Crisis of 1679-81, and during the events surrounding the Revolution of 1688. Thus, this book holds particular interest for students of constitutionalism, legal pluralism or civil religion in seventeenth-century Britain, and for those seeking to deepen their understanding of the intellectual origins of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms and the Revolution of 1688-9.
