Les adolescents diabétiques de type 1 ont une plus mauvaise compliance aux soins et sont donc plus à risques de mauvais équilibre glycémique, responsable à long terme d'un impact majeur sur la morbi-mortalité. Cette thèse propose une revue de la littérature internationale, d'articles publiés après 2005, sur des enfants et adolescents, avec un diagnostic de diabète de type 1. Différents déterminants psychopathologiques et sociaux sont ressortis, en lien avec le statut socio-économique, la dynamique adolescente au sein de la famille, l'impact du diabète sur ce système et le bien-être psychologique des adolescents diabétiques (stratégies d'adaptation face à la maladie chronique, comorbidités psychiatriques). Une proposition de grille de facteurs de vulnérabilités à disposition des pédiatres en découle. Elle permet de conclure à l'intérêt d'une prise en charge multidisciplinaire du diabète de type 1 pour l'adolescent et sa famille et offre des perspectives de recherche future sur le dépistage précoce et la prise en charge.
