Book Description
Does God Have a Perfect Will for Your Life? Does God have a perfect will for each Christian? Can you be absolutely certain of God’s specific will for your life? In this expanded twenty-fifth anniversary edition of his highly acclaimed work, Garry Friesen examines the prevalent view on God’s will today and provides a sound biblical alternative to the traditional teaching of how God guides us. This new edition includes these helpful resources: • Study guide for small groups • Responses to Frequently Asked Questions • Guide to painless Scripture memorization Friesen tackles the very practical issues of choosing a mate, picking a career, and giving in this fresh and liberating approach to decision making and the will of God. Story Behind the Book Most Christians have been taught how to find God’s will, yet many are still unsure whether they’ve found it. God does guide His people, but the question is, “How does He guide?” After “putting out a fleece” to decide which college to attend, Garry Friesen began pondering why it was so hard to find God’s will when he had so sincerely sought it. Was he the only one who did not have 100 percent clarity for every decision? Then a new possibility struck—perhaps his understanding of the nature of God’s will was biblically deficient. Maybe there was a better way to understand HOW God guides.

Decision Making God's Way
Author: Gary T. Meadors
Publisher: Baker Books
ISBN: 9780801064296
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 0
Book Description
Many Christians are concerned with finding God's will for their lives. In this fresh approach to decision-making, Gary Meadors emphasizes that the Bible exhorts followers to "do" God's will, not to "find" it. The Bible is clear on many matters, but how can believers know God's will about issues the Bible does not directly address? Meadors offers Christians an objective procedure for decision-making-one based on scriptural revelation as well as their biblical worldview and set of values. Godly discernment does not depend on subjective criteria. As believers learn to apply God's truth to daily decisions, they will become more reflective and confident, taking ownership in processing life's difficult choices. Decision-Making God's Way provides helpful, thought-provoking insight for Christians wanting to know God's plans for their life.

Paul’s Decision Making in Acts
Author: Wayne ODonnell
Publisher: Wayne ODonnell
ISBN:
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 560
Book Description
This book is a commentary on the New Testament Book of Acts that is primarily about the Apostle Paul and his mission to the Aegean. All my books can be read online for free at http://wayneodonnell.com or http://bible.ag. “Freely you have received, freely give” (Mt. 10:8). In 1980, Garry Friesen wrote "Decision Making and the Will of God," a book that debunked the traditional view that God leads by inward impressions into His perfect, specific will. But Bible teachers continue teach prayer is a two-way conversation; churches continue to question pastoral candidates about their ‘call’ to the ministry; and Christians continue to try to discern God’s inner voice to make decisions. Christians in the book of Acts made their decisions by the Word and Wisdom, not by listening for inward impressions. Almost all Paul’s decisions in Acts can be explained by 17 logical principles he followed. Paul was Jesus' surrogate to complete Jesus' mission to bring the gospel to the Gentiles of the Aegean Sea, and to the Jews of the diaspora. Isaiah 49:1, 6. "Listen, O Islands, to me; and hearken, you Jewish People, from far. The LORD has called me from the womb. ... He said, 'It is a light thing that you would be my servant to ... restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, so that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.'" The first part of the book of Acts asks, "Can even Gentiles be saved?" But the last part focuses on Luke's real message: The Congregation should continue to look equally Jewish and Gentile, even though Gentiles become far more numerous in the Congregation. This is God’s highest purpose; gathering two into the one body of Messiah, according to Ephesians. All Paul's epistles were written by the end of Acts 28. There’s no need for a speculated release and second Roman imprisonment. This book also provides an accounting of the movements of Paul's coworkers; and a history of Charismaticism, Christian mysticism, and the false doctrine of "Let Go and Let God.”
