Book Description
Brilliant panache is added to the genre of introspection and self-growth! Rebecca has artistically resurrected the beautiful, poetic worship style of the Shepherd-King David. A unique, fresh approach brings new inspiration to your journaling. With imaginative skill, she utilizes the written word like a paintbrush in her picturesque turn of phrase by shading meaning into the ordinary. This stimulating fashion will add a splash of refreshment to your quiet time! Contemporary, Psalm-style poetry opens each topical thought, prayer or praise, accompanied by an interesting, often entertaining, always stimulating short narrative of the topic that sketches a present-day life application. Scriptures re-enforce the power tool of God’s Word, and blank lined pages are included to allow for the poet in you to compose your own thoughts and psalms! Destined to reignite the expressive spirit of worship to personal devotion and journaling! Makes a delightful gift book! Don’t forget to give one to yourself! Endorsement “At once inspirational and vulnerable, Rebecca Lamarche’s I Borrowed David’s Harp weaves poetry with personal story, offering fresh insight into everyday scripture readings. Rebecca reminds readers that the Bible is not a 12-step self-help book, but rather a relationship with a personal God, who yearns for His people to smile at the future, and the now. You’ll find I Borrowed David’s Harp a pure joy to read, not only once, but over and over.” —Cornelia Becker Seigneur, speaker and author of Images of America: WEST LINN and WriterMom Tales. “Beautifully written, biblically sound, with wonderful insight. Every page drew me in, I would recommend this book to anyone looking to deepen their faith and strengthen their walk with God.” —Jimmy Myers, PhD, LPC-S, Executive Director, The Timothy Center

Book Description
Excerpt from David's Harp in Song and Story At one of the last sessions of the Presbyterian General Assembly held in Pittsburg in the month of May, the following communication was read by the stated clerk: "To the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, now in session in Pittsburg: "Dear Fathers and Brethren - The undersigned beg leave to state that they are chairmen of committees appointed by the General Assembly of the United Presbyterian church now in this city and by the synod of the Reformed Presbyterian church, respectively, for the purpose of securing a metrical version of the Book of Psalms which will be correct and elegant and conform to the present canons of literary taste in the English tongue. The object proposed is not to commit any body of Christians to the use of such book in whole or in part when completed, but to secure, if possible, a metrical translation of the Psalter of such excellence as will commend it to the taste and judgment of all who may desire to use the Psalms in praise, and as will secure it a place in the hymnody of all the churches. "It is believed that the material for such a version is already in hand and is to be found in the many versions and the many manuals of the churches, as also in many separate individual renderings. Thus, while new renderings would not be excluded from consideration, the proposed work would be chiefly that of collation, selection and compilation of metrical translations now in existence. "We are instructed by the bodies which we represent to solicit the co-operation in this revision of other bodies of Christians which have authorized in their standards the use of the Psalms in praise. "We therefore request this General Assembly, representing the largest and most influential of the Presbyterian bodies, to consider this proposal favorably and to appoint a committee to co-operate in this work, being assured that your example in so doing would be readily followed by all the Reformed churches. Book Description
"Author David Harrison wrote his novella, The Legend of David's Amazing Harp, to help hurting and grieving people draw closer to God. The inspiration for this story came to David in a moment of anxiety and hopelessness a few hours before conducting his twin brother's funeral. He, his family, and friends needed some hope from the Lord to cope with their grief. That morning, David rose at five to walk and pray. He asked God, "Please show me You care." He needed a message from heaven to comfort himself and others. Suddenly, he heard the sound of harp music playing from above and in his heart. In that moment, the entire legend of David's harp filled the the author's soul with great joy and comfort. It was truly a gift given by God's loving grace-- which David sincerely desires to share with you."
