Data from Flow-field Surveys Behind a Large-scale Thin Straight Wing of Aspect Ratio 3
Author: William T. Evans
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Airplanes
Languages : en
Pages : 13
Book Description
Limited flow-field surveys were made behind a large-scale thin straight wing of aspect ratio 3, both alone and in combination with a body and vertical tail. The wing section was a modified double wedge, 4.2 percent thick. The surveys were made at geometric angles of attack from 8 to 30 degrees, at a free-stream dynamic pressure of 20 pounds per square foot. The Reynolds number, based on the mean aerodynamic chord of the wing, was approximately 8,500,000.

Stability and Control of Airplanes and Helicopters
Author: Edward Seckel
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Stability of airplanes
Languages : en
Pages : 532
Book Description
Stability and Control of Airplanes and Helicopters deals with aircraft flying qualities that determine the stability and control of airplanes and helicopters. It includes problems based on real aircraft, selected to represent the gamut from simple to complicated, and from conventional utility designs to futuristic research types. Many of these problems involve comparison of theory and experiment to demonstrate their mutual relationship.
