Abstract: "In large-scale software development, design occurs in an evolutionary manner. This is particularly true in object-oriented development. During the design evolution process, many changes will be performed to different sets of objects. Manually performing these changes and maintaining propagation of changes, is a tedious and often quite complicated task. In this thesis, we present a framework for supporting design evolution. We describe a uniform way to define the semantics of object change operators, present a set of change operators that can be used to manage and control design evolution of an object-oriented system, and describe a uniform mechanism to define change operators."
