Book Description
Coyote Running - A Reluctant White Knight novel - Volume 2 Reviewed By: Editorial Board, The Columbia Review of Books & Films 1/21/2015 This is the second installment in the “Reluctant White Knight” series of novels from author T.W. Anderson. The story picks up as our hero, Tom Rowter, faces new challengers with his now familiar mix of reluctance and gusto. In a natural progression from the first novel in the series, “Will It Be Sunny Tomorrow?” and maintaining a similar storytelling tone, “Coyote Running” starts with a short leap of time from where we left off. Rowter, who had been recovering emotionally from losing his first and longtime wife, is now married to the woman we know so well from his previous adventure. The couple had just celebrated their first Thanksgiving together on the ranch, but now they are parting ways in different directions, both geographically and plot wise. While the story starts off with a measured pace, interspersed with flashbacks to what had happened in the preceding year, the pace picks up quickly. The flashbacks work well as they anchor the relationship between the mature lovers and give depth to what they experience next. With some foreign locations and familiar themes (decisiveness, a strong sense of justice, and dry humor) this book provides suspense and action, testing the hero’s commitment to his new bride, as well as his loyalty to past relationships, and a sense of patriotism. The flying scenes, which reflect an infectious passion for aviation, are an enjoyable recouping of the first novel while taking us to new heights. The sense of peril is real and Rowter relies on his skills and experience to get out of tight spots. In summary, “Coyote Running” makes for an enjoyable action adventure with sensible continuity from “Will It Be Sunny Tomorrow” and leaves a door wide open for what will happen in the next installment. Enjoy the ride! Type: Books Genre: Fiction Title: Coyote Running Series: A Reluctant White Knight – Volume/Book 2 By; T. W. Anderson (author) Summary: "An enjoyable action adventure. Suspenseful!" Book Description
The dynamic duo is back! Romance author Amanda Carmichael has a new project up her sleeve - starting her own private investigation firm. The only problem is, she neglected to tell her grumpy 'business partner' first. Much to Detective Ben Camden's dismay, she’s posted business cards offering their sleuthing services all over the town of Goodwater Ranch. The good detective would rather not waste his time and connections traipsing through the monotonous petty crimes sure to follow - especially when Amanda’s only required payment is lunch money and permission to use the details of said cases to fill her novels. Ben is still reluctant to help when Amanda enlists them to solve the decades-old cold case of Crazy Susan. Their client, Mr. Gray, is looking for the lost love who got away all those years ago. Gray wants clarity or closure on the past, and to know if Susan is doing well and whether or not he can help her in any way. But for Ben and Amanda, it won't be as simple as a simple social media search. To find Crazy Susan, they'll have to interview some of the more eccentric residents of Coyote Run, and hope for the best. But at least there's free lunch, right? Book Description
To See Them Run explores how and why Great Plains hunters have chased coyotes with greyhounds and other sight hounds since before George Armstrong Custer. Though a well-developed, long-lived, widespread, and undeniably enthralling tradition, the practice remains little known, even to those living in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and South Dakota, where the tradition is common. Coyote coursing, hunting with greyhounds launched from specially made pickup rigs, is a hobby by locals, for locals, and it has remained a quintessentially vernacular enterprise occupying a rung below the Plains’ prestige forms of animal training and interaction—namely with horses and cattle. The coyote coursing tradition provides an ideal setting for exploring the relationship between animals and the study of folklore. The book examines the artistry, thrills, values, camaraderie, economy, and controversies of this uncommercialized and never-before-studied vernacular tradition. Through ethnographic photographs and authentic collected commentary from participants, this book uncovers how hunting dogs and coyotes both have shaped and been shaped by human aesthetic sensibilities in ongoing folkloric and biological processes. Author Eric A. Eliason and photographer Scott Squire discover deep and sophisticated local knowledge in a unique interaction with the natural ecologies of the great North American prairie.

Jane Eyre meets Twilight in Dark Companion, a lush and romantic YA gothic tale about an orphaned girl who attends an exclusive private school and finds herself torn between the headmistress's two sons. Orphaned at the age of six, Jane Williams has grown up in a series of foster homes, learning to survive in the shadows of life. Through hard work and determination, she manages to win a scholarship to the exclusive Birch Grove Academy. There, for the first time, Jane finds herself accepted by a group of friends. She even starts tutoring the headmistress's gorgeous son, Lucien. Things seem too good to be true. They are. The more she learns about Birch Grove's recent past, the more Jane comes to suspect that there is something sinister going on. Why did the wife of a popular teacher kill herself?
