Cotton Waste Its Production, Manipulation and Uses (Classic Reprint)
Author: Thomas Thornley
Publisher: Forgotten Books
ISBN: 9780484744881
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 414
Book Description
Excerpt from Cotton Waste Its Production, Manipulation and Uses In spite of the tremendous effects of the Great War on the cotton waste industry in all its connections, the original contents of the first edition of this work have now needed only the addition of a few footnotes. War-time conditions attracted intense interest to the uses of cotton waste, and the author has been gratified to learn that this treatise has played no mean part in enlightening many people on matters demanding practical attention in regard to cotton waste and its treatment. Condenser cotton waste spinning has extended and is extending all over the cotton textile districts of the world. While the revisions of the first edition of this treatise have been almost nil, the book has been greatly enlarged by the addition of chapters dealing with many important matters omitted from, and giving extended treatment to matters not sufficiently dealt with, in the first edition. The book has filled a place of its own in textile literature and the author has endeavoured to increase its value to the industry by adding new chapters. The thanks of the author and publishers are heartily accorded to the various machine making firms who have kindly aided in the illustrations and descriptions. In every case names of firms have been stated in the text. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy.
