Excerpt from Constitution, by-Laws and Regulations of the Mercantile Library Association, of the City of New York, 1855: Established November 9, 1820 Art. 5. Persons may be elected Honorary Members by the Board of Direction; and such persons shall be entitled to all the privileges of regular membership, except the right to vote and to hold office. Art. 6.
