Book Description
For Kayla Jackson owning her own business was always her dream. She put all her time, energy, and focus on becoming self-made and independent. All this independence cost Kayla her social life and a woman as beautiful and young as she should never be alone. But one night a chance meeting would change her life completely. Deon Carmichael has spent most of his life searching for the right woman. A woman that was strong, beautiful, independent, and that would love him no matter what obstacles they faced. Being incredibly handsome and wealthy was sometimes a gift and a curse when real intentions are concerned. When Kayla and Deon meet by chance it was love at first sight. A whirlwind romance took them both by surprise. Kayla never thought she could find a man that was her equal in every way. Deon was attractive, wealthy, intelligent, and a porn star in bed. He was Baltimore's Most Eligible bachelor and Kayla had his eye. So, when tragedy strikes, Kayla is made to take a closer look at the man of her dreams the truth becomes too much. What reasons did she have to be suspicious if he loves her and he's everything she's ever wanted and needed in a man? Nothing could ever tear her away from what she wanted the most; she was a Queen who would do anything for her KING!

Book Description
Why a book about concrete? Because we use so much of it -- far more than any other building material. It seems only sensible to inquire as to how we can use this ubiquitous building material without undue damage to the life and landscapes that surround us. You may have heard of fly ash as an eco-friendly alternative to using portland cement in concrete, but until now there has been no easy guide to how it makes superior concrete, or to how to use it. This book isn't just for people who want to "build green" -- it's for people who want to build better concrete.

Book Description
In our times hope is called into question. The disintegration of economic systems, of states and societies, families, friendships, distrust in political structures, forces us to ask if hope has disappeared from the experience of today's men and women. In August 2019, up to 240 participants met at the international theological congress in Bratislava, Slovakia. The main lectures, congress sections and workshops aimed to provide a space for thinking about the central theme of hope in relation to philosophy, politics, pedagogy, social work, charity, interreligious dialogue and ecumenism.

Book Description
We are both fans of watching animated stories. Every evening, before or after d- ner, we always sit in front of the television and watch the animation program, which is originally produced and shown for children. We find ourselves becoming younger while immerged in the interesting plot of the animation: how the princess is first killed and then rescued, how the little rat defeats the big cat, etc. But what we have found in those animation programs are not only interesting plots, but also a big chance for the application of computer science and artificial intelligence techniques. As is well known, the cost of producing animated movies is very high, even with the use of computer graphics techniques. Turning a story in text form into an animated movie is a long and complicated procedure. We came to the c- clusion that many parts of this process could be automated by using artificial - telligence techniques. It is actually a challenge and test for machine intelligence. So we decided to explore the possibility of a full life cycle automation of c- puter animation generation. By full life cycle we mean the generation process of computer animation from a children s story in natural language text form to the final animated movie. It is of course a task of immense difficulty. However, we decided to try our best and to see how far we could go.

Book Description
“Net Zero” has been an effective rallying cry for the green building movement, signaling a goal of having every building generate at least as much energy as it uses. Enormous strides have been made in improving the performance of every type of new building, and even more importantly, renovating the vast and energy-inefficient collection of existing buildings in every country. If we can get every building to net-zero energy use in the next few decades, it will be a huge success, but it will not be enough. In Build Beyond Zero, carbon pioneers Bruce King and Chris Magwood re-envision buildings as one of our most practical and affordable climate solutions instead of leading drivers of climate change. They provide a snapshot of a beginning and map towards a carbon-smart built environment that acts as a CO2 filter. Professional engineers, designers, and developers are invited to imagine the very real potential for our built environment to be a site of net carbon storage, a massive drawdown pool that could help to heal our climate. The authors, with the help of other industry experts, show the importance of examining what components of an efficient building (from windows to solar photovoltaics) are made with, and how the supply chains deliver all those products and materials to a jobsite. Build Beyond Zero looks at the good and the bad of how we track carbon (Life Cycle Assessment), then takes a deep dive into materials (with a focus on steel and concrete) and biological architecture, and wraps up with education, policy and governance, circular economy, and where we go in the next three decades. In Build Beyond Zero, King and Magwood show how buildings are culprits but stand poised to act as climate healers. They offer an exciting vision of climate-friendly architecture, along with practical advice for professionals working to address the carbon footprint of our built environment.
