Comenc� a interesarme por las manualidades, la florister�a, y la comida.Fui miembro del Garden Club de Caracas por 40 a�os y en el a�o 2000, me convert� en su presidenta. El Garden Club fue lo mejor que me pudo pasar, por el aprendizaje que recib�. Particip� en exposiciones internacionales, y eventos importantes como la decoraci�n de la llegada del Papa a Caracas. Realic� numerosos viajes al exterior con los miembros del club cuando �ramos invitadas a exposiciones en muchas partes del mundo: M�naco, Jap�n, USA, Curacao entre otros.Por otra parte, la comida internacional me llamaba mucho la atenci�n, y algunas de mis recetas fueron resultado de esos viajes.No recuerdo cuantos, pero fueron innumerables los cursos de cocina que estudi�. Lo que m�s me gustaba era amenizar reuniones en mi casa y preparar mis platos favoritos.Descubr� que el mejor lugar de mi casa era la cocina. �Donde hay buena comida, hay gente alegre, historias, y muchas risas! Entonces termin� cocinando para bodas, quincea�eras, bautizos, primeras comuniones y cumplea�os.En el a�o 2008, mi hija, Yajaira, me regal� una laptop, y me abri� una p�gina en Facebook que la nombr� "Cocinando con Gladys", y complet� 500 recetas. Este libro contiene 25 de ellas.Ahora residenciada en este hermoso pa�s, Estados Unidos, a mis 88 a�os, estoy feliz y haciendo lo que me gusta, que es, compartir en familia ofreciendo mis mejores recetas.
