A simulation computer model has been built to analyze and predict corrosion and maintenance costs. This model can be used to derive the optimal painting schedule for a specific coating, the optimal protection method for a specific bridge, or a detailed analysis of costs for a single painting job or an entire maintenance program. Preprogrammed or user-furnished data may be utilized.
